I am just wondering if anyone has any past experience or notes or tips on how to run a futsal tournament?

If anyone can get back to me, that'll be great!

Thanks

Do you own your own centre or are you looking to sponsor a tournament?

If it's the latter, have the centre do the organisation for you. More detail please.

When I mentioned "centre", I meant a futsal centre as I'm assuming you won't be playing outdoors.

If you speak to them, they'll help organise one for you. You'll need their help in getting officials and equipment like bibs, balls, whistles, etc. Also, they'll help you develop a schedule. All you need to do is determine how much you want to give away to the winner.

and then there's the format(round robin, sudden death, round robin with playoff...)

We organized one last year; the boys in LYN Futsal thread took part as well and I think it was fairly successful. Let me know what you need to find out.

funding is the key. do you have a sponsor?

small-ish tournament (just between colleague, friends, schoolmate etc) normally need no sponsor. collect entrance fee among participants to pay a rent, prize, beverages etc.

big-ish tournament normally need a sponsor. u need to organize a committee to setup promotion, finding sponsor, etc.

if u have a good connection to futsal center owner, thats a big help. they usually know exactly what to do..
