I would suggest you to rent some games first. Then if feel like the game has much replay value (new game+, online game play), only then consider purchasing it.

Previously I had purchase some number of games but some of them just didn't feel like there are much replay value on them. So in the end I just sell it and top up to buy another game. Now I just rent.
