Speaking of distributors, i wonder why the price of the siberia v1 remains the same after 2 years.

Anyway, looking forward to the 7H

The SS Siberia USB sound card is heavily over-priced for its MEDIOCRE sound reproduction.

There was this one time where i was browsing at viewnet lowyat and i found the SS grip, which costs RM 39.90. Isn't that too expensive for such a simple item?

The razer DA was RM 230+ last year. A few weeks ago i saw it was RM 170 at AllIT.

You're missing the point. I'd happily buy those stuff if it weren't that expensive. Take the logitech MX518 for example. In the US, it costs 50$. if we convert that, we get:

50.00 USD = 157.250 MYR

The average price for the MX518 in lowyat is around RM 80-90.

I want to get the 7H (non-USB) but if i convert the price:

130.00 USD = 408.850 MYR

It's definitely NOT gonna be RM 410 because if we look at the Xai, it's

90.00 USD = 283.050 MYR

while most retailers sell it at RM 350+

u may not realise this, but SS do not deal in USD, rather in euros.

therefore -
7H non-USB.
99 euro = RM413.
this is obviously not here yet, so no idea what the new distro will set it at.

but -
Xai.
80 euro = RM334.
this is obviously pretty close to the RM359 retail that was set by the previous distro inter-asia.

likewise -
5Hv2 non-USB.
80 euro = RM334.
previous retail price set by inter-asia = RM345.

I emailed steelseries the other day and this is what i got:

Dennis Lee, Aug 05 00:05 (CDT):
Is the 5Hv2 USB adapter usable for the 7H headset? Are there any differences between the 5Hv2s' USB adapter and that of the 7H?

Thanks.

Mike S, Aug 05 09:14 (CDT):
Dennis,

The 5Hv2 USB adapter is 100% compatible with the 7H and all of our headsets. There is an updated chip in the 7H USB card but you should not notice any difference in sound quality. Both cards support virtual 7.1 surround sound.

Let me know if you have any further questions, I'll be glad to assist.

Regards,
Mike S

IMO i like the 7h design better. The 5hv2 looks ridiculous especially the mic (p3n1s shaped).
