its the best keyboard arond ! high response you can read more at www.steelseries.com
*
the response cant really felt by normal human. unless you use special program to test it.
the price is because of the mechanical switch. each switch individual for each key, compared to normal membrane one big piece of electronic membrane for whole keyboard. and mechanical switches can last you a hell lot presses compared to normal membrane. which explains the price. long-lasting, compare to normal membrane that gets you changing after 2 years which become stiff. mechanical dont become stiff.

but it's quite overpriced actually i feel, the 7G. 6Gv2 is much affordable or even the blackwidow by razer.

The laser sensor doesn't get in the way for RTS and FPS games?
*
laser or optical means nothing, after you've tried both. any mouse is suitable for any game. it all depends on the DPI you need, buttons, on-the-fly DPI changing, and that's about it.(from technical point of view). more reason to consider would be right/left handed, ambidextrous, palm grip finger grip etc. but never laser/optical as a comparison. marketers and mouse companies say all sorts of gimmicks and mislead the whole gaming community. what optical for FPS laser for this that, all bullshit.

from optical to laser is for better tracking, better precision and accuracy
try to compare laser and optical mouse in photoshop or any graphic work for tiny distance movement
you will notice their performance different
*
isn't the bolded statement referring to the DPI?
yes i know there are differences in pixel hunting, but still, it boils down to the DPI and the window sensitivity, no?
very high DPI, lower than average(middle) window sensitivity, then you get very tiny precise movement.
unless with same window sensitivity and same DPI, laser mouse can provide even more tiny and exact pixel hunting compared to another optical mouse(which won't be happening), DPI is still the factor to be considered. look out of the box.

maybe we can say that laser sensors provide much higher DPI, thus more precision and accuracy as you mentioned.

QUOTE(jasmineivan @ Oct 25 2010, 01:30 AM)
nope ur statement partially corrrect

high dpi and low sensitivity setting combination did improvement
but precision is how precise the mouse follow ur hand movement..laser sensor serve better because of the sensor tracking power is different
other than that..laser sensor also tracking better for more different surface

maybe i not really good in explaining this
or i should explain with example

you try 1 optical mouse and laser mouse..put them in same dpi value..let say da and ikari laser both in 2000dpi(let say)
try use it in photoshop graphic work with same sensitivity as well..you will get wat i wanna convey
*
hmm i'm not a graphic user so i cant really compare between the two, but i guess since with same dpi and window sensitivity, laser would follow our hand more accurately, then i guess there's a difference then biggrin.gif biggrin.gif xD

What the Kinzu Retail has over the OEM.
2) Gold-played USB jack
i dont understand, is it a major misconception or? i have a Kinzu retail version from Moderno 9 months ago. my USB is not gold plated. have never seen a gold plated USB on any Steelseries product.

Added on October 31, 2010, 9:51 pmi can feel very high friction when i using kinzu on goliathus control and even worse on 4hd..definitely need another mousepad for it
*
QUOTE(AlexLai @ Oct 31 2010, 10:54 PM)
QcK. You need something smoother like it.
*
ya. QcK, razer goliathus speed, or the good ol' everglide titan if you still can get yourself one.

i remember many pages back there was a rumour/picture etc of white Kinzu coming out, but no info on steelseries.com. is it a rumour is a real product coming out?

any different??
glide and feet not same??
*
ya i thought it's the same also. feet skate glide any term rclxub.gif

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Nov 2 2010, 10:19 AM)
feet is that "thing" that you stick on the mouse, whereas you stick the skates on the feet.
*
you sure? some references?
as far as i know it's the same. and it depends on how you stick your feet/glide/skate on your mouse or on ANOTHER feet/glide/skate(which makes it 2 layer).
some people feel the stock feet on example, IMO 1.1 or Kinzu is not smooth, too thin, then buy another same shape one stick on the stock feet. if don't want make the mouse taller, then take out stock feet only put in new feet, maybe that is where some people get confused.

Teflon  icon_rolleyes.gif if you're not happy with it, just add skates.
remember, SKATES not FEET.
*
it's the same, both refers to the same thing no?
just depends on the way you put on. either put on the original feet or remove original feet and put in.

user posted image
c this: feet/glide/skate for IMO 1.1 and 3.0. it's 0.8mm thick so obviously it's meant to replace the original feet and not ON it. it's written as skates. the 0.3mm version(meant to put on original one) also written skates.

so i think the term doesnt matter. it still refers to the same thing, just the way to apply is up to personal preference.

Nope, it different.
You stick the skates onto the feet, whereas you stick the feet into the mouse after the previous feet got burned out.

well, the problem is most people thought it's the same and can't differentiate it when buying so they bought the wrong stuff in the end.
Skates is a VERY VERY thing piece of teflon.
Feet is a thick teflon to stick it onto your mouse.
but different company uses different terms i guess?
like the hyperglide picture i posted, it's 0.8mm which meant to work as feet(as you mentioned), but all feet/skates/etc by hyperglide is known as skates and not feet.

maybe buyers should take note of the thickness, and not the term used, since it's the same thing rclxub.gif

EDIT: and yes i have the 0.18mm feet/skate no matter how you call it.

to avoid a flamewar..

since you mentioned HyperGlide, I'll show you.

http://www.hyperglide.net/?hg=whatarethey
like I said earlier, stick it to the mouse feet.
and HyperGlide is saying things oppositely on their package and their website.
okok no flamewar intended. smile.gif
just wanna clarify cause what i know is from the HyperGlide package and not from their website.

BTW: kthxbai sounded so rude nod.gif

i think it is, last time its sold at ard rm200 more expensive compared to the standard ime 3.0
*
perfectly legal and limited item. unless you're a collector, it's freaking expensive for a mouse that spec. it's just glossy paint compare to normal IME and different mouse feet.
