for 8GB sdcard, Fat use up some space and after partition with 512mb ext3 you should left around 7GB only........

But what i heard is iphone over bill is mostly due to the jailbreak issue....
after jailbreak some data transmission is running in background and not able to trace.......  
thats why it have higher chance happen in iphone...

You can be safer with the Desire compared to iPhone if you are on Maxis plan. The thing with iPhone AFAIK, is that they could not turn of the data connection if they do not jailbreak. And even with the WiFi turned on, they could still be using data connection (depending which is faster). For Desire, you have the option of turning it off in the Mobile Networks. However, whats the point of turning them off if you have taken the Maxis package. Its just how they calculate the total usage that causes problem which often does not seem you use that much.
With Maxis's stock finishing so fast, doubt they still even have the AMOLED around unless you are getting it from shops.

Alternatively, netcounter, it can track wifi usage too

- Added HomeSwitcher and you can switch between different UI (I still prefer HTC Sense!)
- Added "Powersave", "Performance" and "Interactive" governer for setcpu...
- Smooth as usual.. no major bug
- Brut Maps stockified (by squrl) - you don't have to have two Google maps in the OS now, and there's no "Brut" watermark on the logo
- New version of "Superuser Permission"
- Lockscreen is changed to the transparent one again, but it's possible to revert to Android default still (I prefer that one!)
- 14 new wallpapers... but somehow they are all gone after I restored stuffs via Titanium Backup -.-

Haha bro.. you got that right!!! Last month my bill went up to 250 just for the data plan.. and Wat really pissed me off was that they juz barred my line without any notification!!! Claimed that I have surpassed my credit limit. I checked and its set to 100 only bt why only decided to bar it when reached 250?? Btw guys.. its really recommended to use 3g watchdog app GUI monitor yr 3G usage..

When I got my phone from Maxis (the Mines), I ask the lady to check if my data plan already activated before I leave the store. She checked on the spot and told me to wait for 2+ hours before I start using it. Just confirm with the maxis staff about your data plan activation. Coz sometimes they 'forgot' to activate. haha.
