Wanted to ask, if I want to access and buy apps from the Market, how do I register? I've already got Market Access but when I want to buy it asks for my address upon registration and it doesn't have Malaysia. I can use a UK address but I just wanted to know what do most people do here.

When you guys get 2.2, do check out my article on how to get apps 2 sd for all apps. Not sure if it'll work with desire tho, try at your own risk. Lol.

I've been wondering when the Official Froyo Rom is released in SEA, do we need to unroot our Desire (Maxis set) to the original state before flashing the Froyo? How are we going to unroot? Factory settings, would it work?

Wait, you are saying you are trying to root your handset that is already rooted? I thought you only need to do it once and after that, all you need to do is flash the ROM.
*
It's rooted

But I need to reflash the clockmod thing as it seems to be ''corrupted''

QUOTE(KTCY @ Aug 4 2010, 09:18 AM)
I think samurai1337 should unroot back to stock and start over again, maybe ?
*
Maybe... but that's too much of time (maybe can try in weekend) and it wont fix the issue if it's the Clockmod or ROM Manager bug

Download the Official RUU file at XDA, run the RUU file and you will have unrooted Eclair. Then, update to Froyo smile.gif

Question is, can you root an already rooted Desire? I feel that is the cause of the problem.

I don't bother to root twice actually, just need to get the Recovery tool working

Maybe I should email ClockworkMod to ask what's their advice

Have you tried booting into recovery and try flashing a ROM from there? hmm.gif
Clockworkmod comes in two parts, the recovery image itself and the front-end (ROM Manager). There's a possibility that the ROM manager part is broken while the recovery image is not. One way to determine this is to boot into the recovery console itself (not sure what the key combo for that on Desire, on the N1 it's volume down + power). Or if you have a terminal emulator installed and you have root, start the terminal emulator and type this:
?su
#reboot recovery

Guys, thanks for answering my questions.

I'm on LeeDroid 1.6 and am very happy with it since A2SD+ works well and Swype is good too and have access to paid Market. Nothing else I need. I will wait for the official Froyo for Desire for Asia.

Just wondering why ppl keep flashing their Desire with newer and different developers Froyo? Not same? Better performance?

Key combo is volume down + power for Desire too

I think the recovery console itself is broken - I can manually go into recovery mode, but it keeps reading the old settings and the backup is not stored in the clockworkmod directory

You can always do a speed test to see if you're getting HSDPA speed

found out how to enable swype.

Long press the "text box", input method selection dialog pop-up, select Swype.

looks like HTC Keyboard behave differently as compare to nexus one.
