hey guys any one on froyo 2.2 using non-rooted method?

Mine is not rooted and I just got system update yesterday to update mine to froyo 2.2!

Local set or AP set ?

If AP, we knew it since early Aug.

Oh ya. Even with local set, not interested to get it since HBOOT 0.92 don't looks yummy to me.

AP set should get it since early Aug bro.

HBOOT 0.92 is the bootloader version. On 0.92, no way to root it yet.

So meaning tat if the version is 0.92 we can't root it? Is there any different in term of performance for update froyo 2.2 with rooted device with froyo 2.2?

At the moment, no. HBOOT 0.92 cannot be rooted yet. However, i remember seeing a guide on how to turn it back to HBOOT 0.80 and root again. Maybe need to search it at XDA. In terms of performance, i believe they are the same because the base FroYo are from the same OTA source. However, Rooted FroYo might have a slight advantage because most of the time, they are customized by the developer and added / removed certain programs as well as being fine tuned. Rooted FroYo also have advantage when it comes to installing App2SD+ etc.

native a2sd and a2sd+ is different...a2sd+ is more powerful...
more customization can be done by rooting like you can set the cpu speed, different boot animation, different battery indicator

Thanks for the quick info. I think I have boot 0.92 and I have updated manually to Froyo 2.2. Thought of getting some expert here to enhance and guide me all the way to root my device now.

To check your HBOOT, off your phone then hold volume down with power on.

Question : is it we need to check the md5 numbering thingy when we want to flash radio only ??
when we wanna flash ROM, do we need to check the md5 thingy ??

Yes, it is recommended to match the file integrity. You could have problems with the ROM/corruption if they didnt match...well i didnt usually check them as i am confident enough to flash them terus~~ hehe~~
