I mean Modaco Stock Rom la~~
no way to use a2sd+ and ext3?
*
Bro, you can check back the 1st page of the thread...
there is explaination from ben888 about the stock a2sd and the root a2sd+
you might stuck back with running out of memory using stock a2sd after 40 t0 50 applications installed (depends on size of application also)....
But most case you wont stuck with that using root a2sd+ with ext3/ext4
i have more than 50 apps + 25 overs games installed in my phone with more than 50mb memory left with a2sd+ brows.gif brows.gif
More than 20 applications in my phone is huge with a few Mb to few tens of Mb .apk files ...
And i saw somebody in xda forum installed more than 300 applications in their phone with around 20mb memory left... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
he will be suffer when he backup or restore his phone sweat.gif sweat.gif

yeah.. also been reading paul thread and keep mention bout MCR, Kitchen and R7... anyone know what does it means.. noob here (still on learning curve to install froyo)
*
MCR, R6, R7 and .......is all the version of different rom they create......
previous leak Froyo was build up to version r6, so for the official froyo the mod will be named as r7......
kitchen is a place where you can bake your own rom, which mean you can decide what application you want in the rom and what you dont want.....
you can throw application like stock, pluck, calculator and so on that come with the stock rom which you dont use...
you can also add application that you like inside the rom so that they will automatic install once you flash the rom..

The Modaco ROM, if i downloaded the one with Radio, i don't need to flash the radio again right? Both will be flashed at the same time?
*
Just check your phone software....
You should see the latest radio version if successful......

I'm not sure how true is this..... rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
just to share, dont blame me if anything happen or you cant claim your warranty
I been to the htc training offer by htc for SIS set buyer...
I'd ask the instructor about the void of warranty when rooting the phone....
He said that htc desire is design for open source code usage and develop,
so there is no way to trace whether the phone is root or not like N1.....
As long as you flash back to original rom before you send to claim warranty ....
Or your phone totally die where there is no way to trace your rom version...then you will be safe...

PS: You all judge yourself, i'm not responsible for whatever happen to your phone.....
I just describe what i have heard........ whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

oh oh... can you pls compile the hybrid method ??
cus never try root android b4.. this is my 1st android phone..
so kinda scare to root actually
thx !   biggrin.gif
*
Mine advise is follow only 1 method as these methods are known to be work and proven by a lot of people....
Why want to follow the hybrid method? Dont you think it is more risky? hmm.gif hmm.gif
At the end you get root phone, why not taking the safe path?
Unless you want to prove the hybrid method is working or better...
Just my 2cent, no offence on you or DecaPix who create the hybrid way......

If you already update radio then download without radio.
Download deodexed if you want to change customize framework.

One question. How to have notification on icon whenever there is new event for it.

eg : Mail icon with small little icon showing 100+ email unread.
*
What event you are looking for?
For mail, i m using mail droid, it has notification when new mail come in~~
haha! i delete all my mail or move it into folder before i start using mail on desire, if not it will keep loading all the mail you have in your inbox ~~

I thought it will have notification on the icon but it only shown on the top taskbar. I might miss out whatsapps messages so I thought I wlll shown there tongue.gif
Guess it will not then.
*
Hows whatsapps? I see a lot of people complaining that it drain battery heavily, more than 40% of the battery usage goes to whatsapps.....
With whatsapps on, their phone can only last about 4 to 5 hours before exhausted~~
