i havent tried any of these but from my understanding, u can always flash both of these later... so IMHO, just download both and try it out yrself.. (Its just as easy as flashing file rite? no need to worry anything rite?)
i was just surveying out since both seems pretty equal. Its great to hear thoughts of others IMHO. A personal review from others would perhaps make me decide. To me both are equal. Leedroid seems more to stock. Neophyte is always sorta slightly ahead of leedroid in terms of mods implementations and fixes but leedroid is more stable. Leedroid is on the other hand usually updates b4 he goes to bed which is around 6am local time here. Haha.. ive been watching his pattern. He is a dedicated husband and a father now btw.
p/s : the above is a lil bit over the edge.. haha.. but thats what i can see clearly from them

Guys.. need some help.. I've completed all the steps from 1 till 9.. However when I do steps 10, nothing happen... On the unrevoked screen, I can see the status showing
Waited more than 5 minutes but still no changes on phone or pc..
I run reflash.exe as admin coz I'm doing all this on Win 7... Any other advice?

Rooting Steps: 1a. Run the 'reflash_package.exe' you downloaded and extract it into an empty folder. 1b. Extract 'android-usb-driver.zip' you downloaded into a different empty folder.
2. Turn off your phone, then turn it back on while holding 'volume down' button. (you will boot it into the HBOOT menu by doing this step)
3. Connect the phone to your PC with a USB cable and wait for the phone to say HBOOT USB PLUG on screen.
4. On your PC, open Device Manager (find it in 'Control Panel' or just right click on 'My Computer' and then click properties) and under Other devices, you should now see the Android 1.0 device.
5. Right click on Android 1.0 and click 'Update Driver Software' and choose 'Browse my computer' then select the folder where you extracted 'android-usb-driver.zip'. Once done, reboot and disconnect the phone.
6. After you installed HTC Sync on your PC (you should have installed it from the begining before you do these rooting steps), now uninstall it from 'Control Panel' but don't uninstall HTC Driver Installer. After you are done uninstalling, reboot your PC.
7. From your Phone, go to Settings>Connect to PC>Default connection type and choose Disk drive then untick ‘Ask Me’
8. Then, go to Settings>Applications>Development and then tick USB Debugging.
9. Then, go back to Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is ticked too.
10. Start the reflash.exe in Admin mode [Right Click>Run as Admin, it's only required for Windows Vista and 7]
11. Connect your Desire and wait (it should take about 1-2 minutes)
12. Once completed, your Desire should be in recovery mode and select reboot.
13. You should now have 'Superuser Permission' in applications menu (it means your phone is rooted now) and you are done!!

thanks for the info, i will try it once i flashed to neo's nextsense rom.. im stiill on neophyte 1.4a which is based on frf91, havent tried rom based on official OTA since ive just finished my final exam yesterday.. yippe! guys, nextsense 4.0 and leedroid mod 1.8 .. which one u guys prefer? do drop some thoughts.. i really wanna see ur personal opinions since quite a number of people rooted and already flashed custom roms now
I didnt try LeeDroid yet, but NextSense is awesome IMO, best custom ROM that are the closest to the official(i said custom cuz it still got some of the Neo's tweaks). Might try LeeDroid, but i dont know why i might stay with NexTSense for a longer period. For the first the I am completely satisfied after flashing a ROM.
LeeDroid looks cool(it is still in my SD card alongside the NextSense ROM when i still undecided), but i found it to have more bugs than NexTSense after reading its threads, but more fixes too! which makes it one of the best cuz it is constantly updated.

Ok.. manage to go thru that 10th step.. I just connect the phone first with usb cable and then run unrevoked as admin.. After few minutes, the phone restart by itself and after unlocking it, I can see any 'Superuser Permission' in applications menu...
Did I get this correctly? or should I run unrevoked once again? FYI, after the phone restart, I remove the usb cable..

Good analysis LOL
Neophyte seems to be impatient sometimes when handling XDA forumers (and at times hard to understand his english), but nevertheless I think his ROM is really polished and not much trouble - he's fast in fixing issues too. Not sure if the underclocked thing really works but I just assume it would for now (since it doesn't feel that slow anyway)
I tried LeeDroid 1.7 once and had market problem causing handset reboot (means I couldn't do anything else) then gave up. It's prolly fixed already in 1.8 though

Yeah i agree with you about Neo but his ROM seems to be less trouble even on first release. Anyway, both devs are good and reliable IMO. The fact that they keep updating their ROM is the best thing. I rather have a buggy ROM with a dev updating with fixes, rather than a one time ROM dev.
@pluginbaby - why dont you try LeeDroid 1.8 since me and Samurai1337 are using NexTSense already. then you can share with us.

ive already flashed to nextsense4.0 .. haha.. leedroid mod surely in my honest opinion is the closest to sense, quite stable but minor-ly customized.. neophyte seems to push his customization further but he exposes the rom to new bugs.. the good thing is, he fixes it in a flash..
anyone of u guys know which maxis outlet in Klang Valley still sells the AMOLED version? went pyramid branch, they're out of stock, so i'll assume the new stock will be S-LCD.
