C'mon guys, SC 2 is still in its infancy; there's no need to start antagonizing a DotA-like that's appearing.

DotA didn't "kill" Warcraft 3. Warcraft 3, for all intents and purposes, was pretty much dead in the water (The Koreans stuck to Starcraft (Whom were the main targets for this) and the rest of the world didn't fancy a "war" game that allowed you control of an average of 20 units at once). DotA merely used Warcraft 3 as a platform to be where it is now.

If Starcraft 2 is as strong a game as Starcraft was, then you anti-DotA fans will have nothing to worry about since, believe it or not, more than one community can exist within the same network.

Can we please just get along and keep all the "anti/pro-DotA" rhetoric out of here? I was hoping this place wouldn't need constant moderation so early in its expected long life.

I used to play quite a bit of DotA on Bnet last time.

Trust me, they're there as well.

At the risk of coming off as a pretentious twat, yes, I am aware that we aren't the typical dota fans.

I just wanted to point out that these "dotards" aren't just exclusive to pirated Warcraft 3 servers. Bnet has its fair share as well.

Why? The two games play very differently. Its not like you *need* to know how to play Warcraft 3 before you want to play Dota.

I don't mind if they haven't played Warcraft. I do mind that they are completely ignorant of Warcraft 3 though. Even then, I don't hate them... I just know to ignore everything they say.

Or rich man, considering the price difference between Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2.
