Uh.... yes some dota players are really cocky bastards know it all but still, you'd have to be playing the game to even to be occasionally associated with them.
So i ask again how does it affects people that don't really care or want to play that sort of game :/
I too wish there was a game without them, but it won't happen

Some games just lure in specific types of people since after all you need to have some good understanding of the game to actually pwn.
Another example is fps like counter strike. The oh i'm so great kind pwning all you nubs crowd

here once a thread for starcraft in fantasy medieval times and somehow the main thread had been replaced by threads like 'who's the best 1v1 hero', 'how to become pro?', '<insert item here> is imba'
that trolls delighted to jump in and start their 'flame and blame' games in those threadsleaving the forum aside and to the game itself: if you managed to log into battlenet with warcraft3, you'll see 90% out of 80% custom maps listed there are that particular custom map
certainly there are some people who had the urge to port this custom map to SC2 and change 'Ancients' word to 'Astriods' (or something techie that starts with 'A') to suit the futuristic space fantasy theme
seeing that *ahem* ware sprung hours after release and there will be certain group of people make SC2 playable thru LAN for their own interest; sooner or later this SC2 section would be flooded by beng-bengs who starts to ask brainless questions like 'which hero is stronger?', 'me and my leet skill replay' and turns into another ugly mess like how warcraft3 thread now.
