win 7 ultimate, 1680x1050, ATI 4850, c2d 3ghz with 4gb ram.. I guess it's not a too bad rig to run sc2, only problem is that tab in and out taking forever. Maybe I should disable the other screen when I play sc2?

need to switch to gamer mode for my keyboard too as always accidently press start button
*
This has always been a problem for us ATI 4800 series owners with Blizzard games.
It happens for World Of Warcraft as well. I own a 4870 card.
I hate alt-tabbing in and out of game as it takes a while to load back the game.

Therefore, I play both games in windowed full screen mode.
However, I find this mode to have some lags unlike real full screen.

But I like being able to use messenger, surf net and still play the game at the same time.
I just have to set my graphics to High instead of using Ultra.

raylee914,
It is actually because when you're on Windows 32-bit, only 3.2GB of your RAM is detected.

If you're already going Windows 7, you should get the 64-bit copy. Only then your 4GB RAM is fully detected and utilized.

TianJian,
I have the same problem also. It takes a while to alt+tab. Not sure what's wrong as I have the same problem with all games except for Warcraft 3. Just set it to Windowed (Fullscreen) mode.

However, when you set that mode, you might need to lower your graphic settings a notch.

As for the move-stop move-stop, I have experienced it before when playing it with a friend, have been asking why his pc is causing it. tongue.gif We're both still not sure why. We just play only don't care. We guess its most probably we played too long and he just needs to off and on his SC2 to clear the memory.

Have you tried using ventrilo before?
Could be your sound recording setting.

Check in control panel, sounds and audio devices, audio tab.
Check what is the default device for Sound recording.
This is for Windows XP.
If you're using Vista or 7, try to find something similar.

Test first if voice actually works for you.
Try on a sound recorder program or get ventrilo and test.
Could even be your mic is muted.
Have you tested it in SC2 through the test option?

That's weird.
You can try and call IAH Games to check if there's a problem with your account.

I solved, turns out I installed some US version or the sort.

I'm now looking for the rules of sc2. Will I still be counted as losing if i leave before 1 minute after the game starts? This is because the game lags so badly, i really wanna find another opponent...
*
Yes it is still considered as a loss.

can someone help me???
i click on the icon, then it goes to black screen and crash....
how to fix it??
*
Wow. Your specs doesn't sound like it should get that black screen thing.
Try reinstalling the game.

Have you updated your DirectX and your display card drivers?

QUOTE(beebee @ Sep 22 2010, 09:33 AM)
hi guys my specs as follows:

athlon am2 x2 4200+
abit an52s
kingston pc667 ddr2 1g x2
sapphire hd3650 256mb ddr3
benq t221w
seagate sata 250g
seagate sata 80g
xigmatek nrp-pc502 500w
winxp pro 32bit

i upgraded my gc to gts250 yesterday but now the game keep lagging non stop issit because my processor cant handle the load? using my previous card i can still play at Medium settings but now even @ Medium i'm having lagging issues, i've reinstalled sc2 but the problem still persists, gonna try to reinstall windows next is really have to
*
Have you cleaned up all your graphics drivers before you installed your new graphic card?
That's the problem you get when you switch from ATI to GeForce or vice versa.
It could cause a graphic driver conflict.

If you're planning to reinstall your windows, it would be a good idea as well.
If not try and use this:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

I used it last time when I switched over from GeForce to ATI.
However, it is still not 100%.
I still had problems with some games after that.
The best solution was still to reformat and install Windows again.

Just got the 1.1 patch. Now the whole game is screwed. Single player not working, replays not working, all maps need to be downloaded again ~.~'

Sick and tired, already troubleshoot for five hours but no avail.
*
Sometimes could be the servers are not fully up yet.
Some people reported that their game worked on the next day. tongue.gif

It'll never have that option available to curb piracy...
Sorry to disappoint. Just go Blitzone and play or get yourself a retail copy.

Yea kinda valid point. smile.gif
Just that it makes it easier to hack the game since the lan program code is built in with the client.

single player button greyed out...how to solve this? go to NA server, it says your copy of sc2 is not associated with...bla bla bla...how?
*
It is still trying to download updates from the server when you login to the game.
It might take some time or forever if you have problems like most of us with the IAH servers.
As for NA Access. You need to go to battle net site and add the Starcraft 2 for NA region to your account.
Its free so don't worry about it.

QUOTE(bakabakayaro @ Sep 25 2010, 01:49 AM)
argh.. just when i thought i had stupid problems with bnet connection.. now after patch cant even play anything! sigh.
*
Just go to NA servers. Most of us have solved the problem by going there to download all the maps.

QUOTE(kenneth @ Sep 25 2010, 11:17 AM)
Totally cant play at my pc, not sure is it my windows something wrong or what ? setting problem maybe ?
*
Not sure what is your problem. What problems are you facing?
Black screen when you start the game?
Do you get the login screen?
You get a blue screen of death?

The normal resolution would be to update your graphic card drivers.
I had to update mine before I can play.
Before that all I get was a black screen.

QUOTE(talexeh @ Sep 25 2010, 11:32 AM)
I've had the same issue even though my beta experience was very smooth. Yesterday I tried my luck by connecting to a VPN before starting up SC2 & guess what? IT WORKS! rclxm9.gif

Something is definitely wrong with the SG server since I've no issue downloading from the US site during beta & yet, the IAH guys wouldn't admit it. For temporary workaround, go & download the Hotspot Shield VPN, turn it on before you start your SC2.
*
Thanks talexeh.
incx already fixed his problem by going to NA server to download everything.
So if for those who don't really know how to use the vpn software, just go to NA server and get your maps.

Can you show me the screenshot where you have this region selector button? I've added NA to my profile but when I start SC2, I don't see any particular button that allows me to switch to the NA region. sad.gif
*
That is because you have Remember Account selected.
So you have already reached the part to key in your password.

Just click the back arrow key beside your account name.
You will see the region button on the bottom left.

mine always freezes no matter how many times i reboot.. lol.. already reinstalled.. patching now.. hope its better this time
*
Wow. Seems pretty bad.
Hope the reinstallation works for you.
Read of this problem before.
Only solution I know is still to reinstall Starcraft 2.
(Notice how many problems we can solve with reinstallation? I'd say shame on you Blizz) rclxub.gif

It happened to me in World of Warcraft last time.
One of the patch screwed my game so badly I get an error each time I start the game.
Reinstalling was such a hassle since I needed to patch it back to the most current patch as well after the installation...

Hi need to check with you.

Which part does it happen at?
When you start to load a map or does it happen at the login screen itself?
Or is it after you login where you have the single player and multiplayer option.

Yea. I suspect the same thing as Quazacolt.
Chances are your graphic card is overheating.
Casing air flow problem?
You have any software to check your card temperature?

Patch caused it? Think you may have to reinstall at this rate.

Haha. Thanks Quazacolt for answering all the questions. thumbup.gif
Hope it helps guys.
You all got a sifu here to help you de. smile.gif

The computer shutdown thing.
When it shutdowns, does it have a warning alarm sound from your motherboard? I had the same problem with my old PC, where it shutdowns automatically when I play some intensive flash games. My old motherboard was Abit. I checked the health doctor and all the temperature was normal at that time. GPU at 60, CPU at 50 and Motherboard north bridge at 32. Still have yet to figure out the problem. At one point I was suspecting faulty RAM. In the end I just changed my whole PC. Gave up trying to troubleshoot. The PC is still now sitting in my store room. tongue.gif

Means your smash and grab mission is corrupted?
Have you tried like perhaps replacing your cache or reinstalling starcraft 2.

Or maybe go KDU Blitzone play pass that mission and go back home and continue from there and don't touch that mission again. tongue.gif
