I'm also having problems with RT-N13. Since 2 week ago, everything was fine but my download speed drop from 4.5MB to 1.5MB ( Tested on Speedtest). Then when i change to the original modem DIR-615, the speed is back to normal but now i'm unable to play online game, especially is GG. I just keep dc from the room after 1 or 2 minutes.( it was fine with RT-N13 before).

Is there any way to fix it or i have to wait for the new firmware?

Currently there isn't a proper guide yet. I'll write it , Currently I'm testing out RT-N13 here as well. Lets hope that everything works and we can find an error with the device

Thanks Prasys. Anyway, just managed to setup DDWRT to run. Apparently, I was doing it correctly but the power led turns off once I install DDWRT FW. Other lights are fine and Internet access is ok. Once I revert to K FW the power led is back on and stable.

It looks like RT13 got hardware problem. ASUSMY didn't respond to my PM nor offered to trade in for a better unit. I guess this will be my last ASUS product.

Now i don't see any RT13 in lowyat anymore, it's just gone. I always though Asus products are stable because their price are always high.

It is not that I like to complain and I respect all the hardwork of the engineers to solve a problem. But my router started to act up after about 6 or so months. Many more also saying the same thing about RT N13U. As a responsible global business entity ASUS should recall the product and give temporary replacement until they sort out.

What is the logic by giving different firmware and testing out to solve the problem? What if the new solution also started to act up after six months? As a consumer I can give co-operation to help ASUS to solve the problem. As you can see from my previous posts I state every observation about this problem. In the end, what did I get? Not even a courtesy acknowledgement of PMs.

We put up with the firmwares and do test for them? As a consumer I think I have been magnanimous and ASUS should do what every other manufacturer would do, i.e. 1) RECALL RT N13U or 2) REPLACE them. I have located my CC statement and now looking for the recipts which is in the store room and will look into next course of action.

Totally agree with you. ASUS should not treat us as a guinea pig, whatever products should have been hammer tested properly before release to the market. This indicate that ASUS is a very suck up with shit brain engineers company. Why shit brain engineers? .... after more than ten over firmwares update, non of them works!

To me ASUSmy should be a responsible person. Could it be ASUS Taiwan have permanent GAP his mouth and hands also been bonded with two tons glue (could not voice out and could not access the keyboard to interactive with the forum users)?

ASUSmy, prove that l am wrong by responding to this posting.

ASUS Taiwan must recall the RT N13U to indicate that you value your customers and be a respected company.

It is not the firmware. Otherwise it wouldn't have worked trouble free for the first six months. It is as simple as that.

Should be the firmware, A lot of users have converted to DD-WRT without problem of modem hang symptom, the only problem is iptv is not supported.

Hi, You should forget ASUS products! Why paid them top dollars and get lousy support, irresponsible attitude, treat the us as a sucker, guinea pig or either think Malaysian "Orang Kampung Tinggal Di-Atas Pokok".
Consider Tplink TL-WR1043ND, Never hang or need reboot for months of operation.

* Please note that l'm not representing Tplink, just a happy user.

Based on my experience it only hang after more than 4 days but less than 7 days (after flashing new firmware). Funny was that after it hangs once, then it will hang in less than 1 to 2 days.... I normally just use wifi and seed torrent. Not much heavy downloading.

I tested my rtn13u and the issue of the operation mode keep on changing to repeater still happen. I contacted asus support, they suggest that it might be related to hardware issue.

You won't regret if you go for N66 (besides the price lah) smile.gif You can try to check with All IT hypermart. TPlink is not bad also for budget. As always, do a research first smile.gif

Now this thread is mainly follow by angry N-13 users. I feel for them but is not helpful for others by trashing the Asus brand product because of one bad model. N56 and N66 always a good choice. Even the N16 also not bad.

Hope Asus can sort this out soon or you guys can get N16 as replacement/refund. Top up for higher end model is not a bad idea as well.

Dunno here got limited to Unifi supported asus product topic or not, still I want to share my experience on Asus DSL product, smile.gif

I'm using Asus DSL-N12U Revision B1

I'm really impressed by its performance and the QoS

Streamyx 4Mbps full speed utorrent downloading still maintain the latency at it's best (below 100ms, Average 80ms)

if use normal modem, already lag like hell liao
