I hope that they come up with firmware. Waiting for ASUSMy to hand over RT13 with a fixed firmware or a firmware image or something so I can stress test and see . I've switched to N56 and kept my RT13 (The 5Ghz frequency is amazing , faster wifi transfer speed

Probably I think best bet for ASUSMY is to offer rebate or some sort , like trade in your RT13 and get RT16 or something better for additional RM 100 or RM 150 , I am quite sure people don't mind forking another RM 100 for a better router as someone suggested. Give them an option , so that its a win-win situation for all. Customers who dont want to fork out more , can use your fixed firmware and others who feel that they need more power or a better router can purchase the higher end one at affordable price

Thats my recommendation

I have dumped my RTN13U as well.

Here is the thing I do:
- I have used TP Link as my main Unifi Router
- RTN13U use as wireless AP only

Then I notice something
-Wireless constantly died off even though TP Link unifi is still standing strong
- Notice the firmware is the latest 2.0.2.5k or something (Asusmy sent to me)
- Flashed back to older firmware which doesn't support Unifi (2.0.2.0 now)
- Wireless running for a week without any issues at all, even stress, PPS, downloads

Hope your team can build a better firmware for Unifi to solve others' issues

Vicky, you have so much money. Spend us for a meal better. What for give to those ASUS fellows. Never treat us as customers properly. Treat us like Junk. Some more as us to do the test work for them. Unify line also cant afford to get one for the testing.

LOL... well i shared with my best friend. we are staying together. and he bought the Asus EA-N66!! Perfect device. I dont know why but when he did speed test with EA N66 he is getting 32Mbps on VIP 20. THis is so weird. is it Magic? i have no idea. i constantly run few times speed test and same test speed. now we are able to play WOW and D3 with superb stable ping. I have no complains ever on ASUS products. Never. They have never disappointed me even once. But this time on N13 they did and nothing is done by them. Very very disappointed with them.

ASUSmy has not been able to get us much responses. Though i do not blame him as he is helping us here. However ASUS themselves should take up all our complains and do something about this. If they cannot support the product whats the point. Anyway mine is off to the RMA already. I hope they can give us option to upgrade it with topup or something as i dont mind changing it for another piece of EA-N66 device. smile.gif

ASUSmy, can you please take this up to your management and tell them about us wanting an upgrade with us topping up? some sort of rebate please?

return it for anything else other than RT-N13 junk. Seriously anything else. Even TP-Link performs good and stable.

Hi,

you have to understand one thing that doing this is taking too long. and as a consumer, why are we supposed to be doing the troubleshooting and going through all the tough methods and also suffering and wasting our precious time? We paid for the device and you expect us to do that for ASUS? This is absurd. Please relay this to your management. I have submitted my device for RMA. Perhaps you can use that as a test bed and get the issue resolved. Or give us an alternative to ugprade our current N13.

Regards.

How to update? I am planning to get a new router for my UNIFI. Is ASUS RT-56U recommended?

Thank you Prasys. Been busy lately with no time to experiment. Will see if I have the time to DD- WRT today.

Hi Prasys, I tried to set up DD WRT but it didn't work. Must I set the vlan tag? I can find complete guide for RT N13U. Anyone having the link? THanx.

Hi Guys, I just bought RT-N13U(Due to budget constraint & annoying housemate heavy downloading) and after successfully setup it, I noticed that my overall internet speed dropping drastically compared when I'm using the DIR-615. Do you guys have any suggestion on the best setup that I can do with the asus router?

Currently there isn't a proper guide yet. I'll write it , Currently I'm testing out RT-N13 here as well. Lets hope that everything works and we can find an error with the device

I'm having a bit problem with RT-N13U. My wireless and wired connection keep on disconnection after few seconds. This make it hard to enter the setup page. Could this possibly caused by hardware defect?

Added on September 2, 2012, 1:17 pmAnother thing that i noticed was that, the router keep on changing its operation mode from router to repeater, eventhough it was set as router at the RT-N13U.

Similar issues on the same router.

QUOTE
I have connected RTN13U to DSL modem Beetel 110TC1 through WAN port. DSL modem settings: IP addr 192.168.1.1 DHCP - On RTN13U settings: Operation mdoe - ROUTER DHCP - on LAN IP 192.168.2.1 Wireless - on - n only mode Initially everythin is fine. My Laptop connected using Wifi has IP addr 192.168.2.1 assigned by RTN13U Router. Suddenly, after 5 min or so, internet connection drops on laptop and regains. Drop happens frequently. Now if I see that laptop's IP addr is 192.168.1.3 If I try to connect to ROUTER 192.168.2.1 , it is not longer there. I see that ROUTER has automatically changed Operation Mode to REPEATER, however I have not changed the physical switch on ROUTER, it is still in ROUTER mode. RTN13U's IP addr is now 192.168.1.1. This means DHCP on RTN13U has stopped and modem is now assigning all IP addr. Internet connection continues do DROP every 5 miniutes. What could be the problem and solution?
