hi there, i just got a RT-N13U and I would like to seek your help on troubleshooting the above.

I setup step by step according to your site, factory restore, then upload the latest firmware 2.0.2.5g, the re-do the factory setup.

Since I don't use the IPTV hence I leave the portion out. I didn't do the DD-WRT.

The connection was ok, everything went smoothly and I could surf without problem but the line seems to disconnect quite frequently especially on the wireless itself.

I would like to seek your kind advise is there any thing that I left out or some steps I forgotten ?

I got disconnect to badly, till now I only use it as a repeater and fix back the old DIR 615.

Thank you so much in advance.

I'm using RT-N56U with firmware 1.0.1.7c and I'm very satisfied with it. It has given me no problem at all except for the limited distance of the 5GHz wireless.

I always thought that Asus router has guest wifi function, but I couldn't find it in mine. Can anyone confirm this?

Begging yr pardon, I'm a noob in setting up. Do I download the latest firmware from asus website or just use the one at klseet?

Thank you for your help.

Broadcom Chipset > Atheros

Firmware support is still new but initial results are already outperforming other top of the line routers.

Avarage quoted cost: US$180-190

Nice but my next WiFi router will be something with 802.11ac. Hopefully will be out by mid of this year.

Yes.

I did and never regret. RT-N13U is much more stable, allowing steady data transmission especially in home wifi setup.

Even for IPTV, N13U provide trouble-free reconnection after I turned on the IPTV device. With stock router I will have to turn off both router and IPTV set-top box and on for device recognition and connection. N13U makes life easier.

For <RM200, its worth the change.

Hi guys, anybody here have experience on rma-ing asus router?

The model i'm using is the rt-n56u

Mine gives problem after only 2 days of usage. It hangs after 20-30 minutes. Tried flashing it using RT-N56U_1.0.1.7f, RT-N56U_1.0.1.8d, RT-N56U_1.0.1.7c but it still hangs after 20-30 minutes.
Does it happen due to overheat? I notice the rt-n56u does produce a lot of heat compared to my previous routers.

But what I would like to know is whether we can 1 to 1 exchange the router and if so, where to get it replaced?

Thank you in advance smile.gif

update: just went to Viewnet Service Center (bought the router at Viewnet), and on the spot they change it for a new unit. thumbup.gif Went back home and flashed to the latest firmware and now running flawlessly for more than two hours. Maybe the previous unit was a faulty one i guess. Hope this one does not give problems.
