Actually for those N13 user, what do you mean by 'hang' internet? You mean the speed of downloading paused suddenly and restart on its own? Or you will need to restart the router everytime?

I do understand that Unifi do throttle the download though.
*
I never have 'hang internet'. What I experience was that the router hang, ie no internet and IPTV. You cannot even access 192.168.1.1. So I have to switch off and on the router back.

Experience like tokbudu in http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=51526643 is strange to me.

anyone has a copy of the 2.0.2.5H firmware? can upload and share please?

i am having hell of problems with G FW. Getting fedup of this N13. Biggest regret to buy this. using it over a year now and at least have to reboot once a day on average. at times, twice or more.

The best firmware for my usage based on my experience is still the oldest firmware for unifi (Last line in klseet website. http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=74&Itemid=70

RT-N13U really sucks.

Didn't really search online for reviews before I bought it yesterday. Came with stock 2.0.2.0 and I pandai pandai upgrade to 2.0.2.5G. Disconnected after a 4 hours. Then flash to 2.0.2.5H. Was ok for a while and then disconnected again.

Now back to 2.0.2.0 for about 3 hours. So called 24/7 BT stalled at 473 MB / 8.6GB. Internet / IPTV still ok.

Main reason for buying is the 24/7 BT so that I don't have to leave my computer on. It's completely useless.

I wonder if Harvey Norman gives refunds.

Really regret.

Added on June 15, 2012, 7:38 pmShould have stuck with my TP-Link TL-841ND. Never disconnect once for weeks and months. Only thing is no BT download feature.

Sheesh.
*
If you want to download and seed BT without switching on your computer I suggest you flash DD-WRT and use Transmission. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_RT-N13U

If you use unifi and need IPTV you can also bridge with TM default router.

You mean BT by not switching on the computer (i.e. Download Master), or normal BT e.g. µTorrent?

I don't understand. What problem are you having?

What firmware are you using now?

Is there a problem with the current firmware?

Added on July 1, 2012, 7:51 pmHang again after 3 days, switch back to oldest firmware (which is the most stable for me)

Hi guys,
It seems like some of you here is facing problem with RT-N13U. I guess it's our responsibility to look into this problem and rectify it at the 'end-user' level at this point of time. We are looking at various possibilities to solve this problem. One of the solution we are considering is replacing it to a different model. We are calculating the cost. At the mean time, i would appreciate those who are facing problem kindly PM me your details as per below. I'll get our Networking Product Manager to contact those who are facing problems with RT-N13U for solution ASAP.
I've send you PM too.

Thank you, Vergas. My setting is exactly like your. Did you set the time setting to reflect local time? The problem may have started when I adjusted it to reflect local time. Since yesterday, I left it to default - even though there was a message saying the time is incorrect or something like that but not disconnection so far for about 27 hours.

I also put 99999999 seconds for time idle for disconnection. Let's see how long it lasts without DC.

Thank again for the snapshots.
*
Yes I did set local time.

Anyway, something happen I don't really know, I just notice that the boot time is only 1 day now, so I guess my best record is around 10 plus days...

testing the beta fw since 16th Jul 2012
Day1:
Right after upgrading the FW, need to reboot the router once, else unable to connect back to UniFi for Internet svc
This happens to me as well, but I think its no big deal. Currently after 1 reboot, seems ok for 1 day and 2 hours. Let see if it can pass the 1 week test. smile.gif

Dear Lowyat.NET users,
Here is some of the info needed, hopefully it's not too much to ask. And we deeply appreciate the patience from you guys. Thank you for giving us another chance.

For those who are facing 'hang' problem
1. Are you using USB Storage at the same time? If yes could you provide us the disk format (NTFS/FAT32/EXT3 or others) ?
2. Referring To STC post: “One thing I noticed that while DC the LAN lights flickers steadly but slightly...You have to really watch carefully for the difference while connected and not connected.”  - Is everyone facing this same syndrome as well?
PS: After prysys test the debug device, i'll pass it to STC to test it out. ETA of the device to arrive is tomorrow.

None connected.

Sorry, never actually watch the thing that carefully.

Hi

I have asus RTN13U B Rev 1
i use unifi default router as medium to IPTV/Internet

the question
will flashing my n13u into DD-WRT make the default unifi router unstable?

I've use this setup before. I do not think it make it unstable.

I think probably ASUSMY should just fuse some changes whatever is done into DD-WRT (since its open source anyway) into RT13-U , create some sort of custom firmware. I think probably your engineers should take a look at it and see what causes DD-WRT to be stable on RT13-U (which needed to be patched to support VLAN 100 and above)

Anyway I bought 56U , and flashed it to custom firmware (sorry but stock firmware is all wonky and slow and lacks of control that I demand from a router). Thats my recommendation to people buying routers , see if it has 3rd party firmware , and just flash it - chances are it would be much more better as its optimized and it includes heaps of changes
*
Yes, maybe create a custom DD-WRT that can support VLAN 100 and above for all of us, that will be so great smile.gif

After 4 days of trying RT13. There is no 'hang' , probably a lot of its stuff are disabled like USB , WiFi , etc

I'll try em one by one later
*
Based on my experience it only hang after more than 4 days but less than 7 days (after flashing new firmware). Funny was that after it hangs once, then it will hang in less than 1 to 2 days.... I normally just use wifi and seed torrent. Not much heavy downloading.
