After i installed the beta unifi firmware  for RT16, i can't used the download manager. anyone got this issue?
*
Just uploaded the custom utility for RT-N16 HERE

Again, like the stock standard also, the current ASUS DM may not work on all torrents since it's not truly a torrent client.

.... router was working fine for the last 1 months but since yesterday, it bricked ..
... the warranty was void when i flashed it with the beta ...
Strange issue, sound like device issue....
No worry, warranty is still covered, all those custom firmware are from ASUS directly!

Try another clean flash again, then restore the default setup file and test again.
If still problem, then you may want to RMA with ASUS.

Anyone got a decent and easy to use guide for ASUS RT-N13u ? for the firmware 8.22.2.3 ?
*
To make it easier, I made the following UniFi default config file:
RT-N13U.RB_8.22.2.3
RT-N56U-8.1.1.4
RT-N16_9.22.2.37

signal definitely improve, speed did improve probably due to stronger wifi signal

on my previous dir 615 had problem with constant disconnection with ps3 - resistance 3 (multiplayer).. will try it on this weekend and see how's the result..

Which 1 it's really depends on your requirement+setup+budget, check out & compare features here:
http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=42&Itemid=39

For me, the RT-N13U-B1 is more suitable for general normal usage, whereas RT-N56U & RT-N16 is different league, more suitable for heavy usage, between this 2 I would say:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry45712580

Btw, you mean you change the stock DIR-615 antenna? How? blink.gif

Wifi thing very complicated ....
- try to Google & use Xirrus to check those wifi around you
- always set 5 channel away from those few strongest around you
- channel width = 20MHz
- wifi security = WPA/WPA2-Auto with AES+TKIP for maximum compatiblity

Bro,

Many thanks for your detailed explanations.

As for the antenna, I mean I change my pc usb wireless to high sensitivity antenna to boost the wifi signal which its getting better but not totally as sometimes I still experiencing drop in connection.

Today I drop at the PC shop in Puchong and saw the Asus 56U which selling at Rm459. Thinking of getting it but thinking why don't wait slightly longer for 2-1 solution as hate to have split unit for both.

Nevertheless let me try the setting you suggested and see if it's improve later smile.gif

It's under "Administration-->Restore/Save/Upload Setting" section

Restore = Restore the device back to default (must do this BEFORE & AFTER flashing the firmware)
Save = Save config file
Upload = Upload config file

No you can't, the UniFi custom firmware is for UniFi only.

Bro, first of all I like to say that you're the greatest! I've learned a lot from your posts and your klseet.com site.

I am currently shopping for a wireless router replacement for my unifi, and from all your advice, I've decided on Asus RT-N56U.

I almost go and get it today, then I thought of N66U that according to your website will be out Oct 2011. So better wait for it.

So, its mid Oct now, any news that you've heard about the availability of N66U?

Also if I get it the moment its available, will it work with Unifi? I only need Unifi's internet access, I don't use the IPTV.
Or do I have to wait for another month or two for the Unifi firmware for it to work with Unifi?

Also, how do I make use of the dual-band? I've googled dual-band and understand that the advantage is having 5GHz band, especially if we're in a wifi crowded area where mostly uses 2.4GHz.

So does it mean to take advantage of it, we need to use the 5Ghz band? Which means we have to use a wireless adapter which works on 802.11a, right?

Can't wait for N66U. Hope to hear good news from you soon. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have to admit that the current DownloadManager is a bit cacat, not really a P2P client....

I did mention/suggest/request to ASUS team, they are aware of this, their engineer are revamping the whole DM, will look something like this:

even got mobile version! brows.gif

So yes, P2P is coming !! drool.gif

I'm learning (and still) from many more even greatest out there, I'm merely doing my little part to share only.... laugh.gif

The last I heard the RT-N66 should be here around Dec'11, custom UniFi firmware is planned 1 or 2 months after it.
The ASUS team is extremely busy, need to queue-up our request ... sweat.gif

To achieve maximum 5GHz throughput, should get those 802.11n type, set N-only with WPA2 + AES

Next, RT-N12 (Broadcom again yeah!) custom UniFi firmware planned next month Nov'11 wink.gif

Same here. using firmware 8.22.2.3 from KLSEET website for unifi configuration. The router will hang after one day running.. have to keep rebooting it to get it working.

I bought my Asus N13u two weeks back and started using it replacing the DLink 615 from TM for Unifi.  I have also experiencing the router has to be power off and on after one or two days. When it hang, I can not access to the admin console to check what is wrong. But I can see my PC network link is not getting an IP address when it hang.

Hmm, just experience the same problem for 3 times yesterday. I have tried to flush the firmware for 3 times and still experience the same problem. Seems like many peoples are having this problem. Did anyone manage to solve the problem? icon_question.gif

Sigh, have to use back the DIR-615 temporary, as least got no such problem.  yawn.gif
*
@seet,

Ok, I can now confirm that I also having similar problems. The router will hang after few days. It normally occur even without heavy downloading as normally I just seed some stuff. Really strange as it can maybe heavy download to the max for five hours, then leave it for few days without heavy downloading then it hangs.
Confirm that it happens in the last two firmware ie Sept 28 and Aug 23. I plan to downgrade to older firmware and see what happens. IIRC no problem with the first Unifi firmware. But it will take few days to find out since it only normally hangs after few days...

Btw, did you use the QoS function?

More than 1 day, more often around 3 days. Didn't manage to reach 7 days without hang.
No I don't use QoS.
