Hi,

If anyone has bought the ASUS RT-N14U, the standard firmware 322 is not working. Likely you will see the timeout or "Timeout waiting for PADO packets" in system log.

You need to upgrade using this  the link https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/C...864B413BD42AF0Y

It works for me after upgraded to 366.

Cheers,
Jon

Just got the RT-N66U model today. I am not sure why but setting up Unifi wasn't smooth. I couldn't get it to work during the turning the modem off/on procedure, and only when I tried the setup many times it finally worked.

Also, maybe I am asking too much, but the WIFI signal has only gained one bar (2 bars to 3)and gained 20% (45% to 65%) on my PS3 compared to the stock Unifi router. Can I do anything extra to further improve the signal?
*
Hi archinkent,

Have you try update the firmware to the latest?

Here is the link to the firmware.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/..._B1_3004354.zip

And the 1 bar that you mention is for RT-N66U or the UNIFI modem?

Thank you

For ASUS Malaysia link you can type "my.asus.com" or "www.asus.com/my" but not www.asus.com.my

Hi gahkin,

This firmware is to fix the UNIFI and Maxis which is unable to establish Internet connection. Once our RD finish do further testing on the firmware, an official firmware will be uploaded on the web.

Use this link to temporally download the firmware first.

Hi,

Does RT-N56U support Astro Maxis IPTV? I am running latest firmware Version  3.0.0.4.360.

It can connect to Maxis Fiber but the IPTV does not work. I used both the Maxis-Fiber and Maxis-Fiber-Special option.

Thanks.
*
Hi kokomon,

Have your try to contact the Maxis? Because Astro Maxis are only using the Internet for the decoder. And if you can online then it should be working.

And may I know what LAN port do you put the LAN cable to the decoder? LAN port 3 is for VOIP only.

Thank you

flashed the n56u to latest firmware the other day and unifi just refuse to connect anymore.

hopefully we can re-flash it to older firmware.
*
Hi kons,

The new firmware are working fine with the UNIFI, as some of our customer are using it now.

May I know from what version of firmware you update from?

If you updated from firmware version start with 2.x.x.x, you will need to do a factory reset on the RT-N56U. And redo the setting.

Thank you

after i downgrade the firmware back to 1.x.x, everything is working fine again.

My N16 will auto power off after power on ( was working for 1 year) recently. Wonder what is wrong. Any bro can help ?
*
Hi woond,

Have you try unplug and plug back the connector from the adapter to the router or try other socket. If the problem still persist, most likely is the router or the power adapter are faulty already.

i suggest this stock firmware update with include openvpn client or pptp client. Cause i see new version of stock firmware already add yes4g dongle driver. But i want yes4g+openvpn in my asus rt-n16. Headache to use 3party fw(cannot use yes4g dongle but can use openvpn client) instead stock firmware(can use yes4g dongle but cannot use openvpn client).
*
Hi ppijat,

The firmware already has PPTP Server, as for the OpenVPN we maybe will add it in future firmware but not very sure when because our RD need to plan and test it.

Thank you
