How is the signal strength for RT-N13U? How much is the price now? Enough to cover a double storey house? Currently the stock Unifi router cannot cover the whole house, I put it at downstairs living room and I cannot get a decent signal in my room which is upstairs.

Hi prescott2006,

RT-N13U is EOL already.

You can refer to the follow link for available models.

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2651405

You can have a look on RT-N12HP if you require better wifi signal with decent price.

Hi guys, I'm currently using the ASUS RT-N12C1.
Just want to ask if anyone knows how to set the QOS for the Gaming Blaster ?
Just a month ago I was using, it was perfectly fine.
After I came back from overseas, when I started playing dota, my ping fluctuates from 80-300ish. Before this the highest it reach was only about the 50 mark. I really have no idea, no firmware has been upgraded as the shop guy flashed the unifi firmware for me.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi phantom_zero,

If you are looking for modem router with dualband, we got one model DSL-N55U.

http://www.asus.com/Networking/DSLN55U_Annex_A/

SRP is RM420.

It has a function called QoS and it apply to both the band when it is turned on.

If you are looking for a budget wise modem router, you can have a look on DSL-N10E.

SRP is RM95

If you are looking for performance modem router, DSL-N55U will be your choice.

Thank you

Hi WiLeKiyO,

I not sure for stable ping because most of the time the ping are cause by the Internet line. But as for QoS, you can have a look on the following models.

RT-AC66U (Broadcom) - RM739
RT-N66U (Broadcom) - RM639
RT-N65U (Ralink) - RM539
RT-N56U (Ralink) - RM439
RT-N53 (Broadcom) - RM309
RT-N16 (Broadcom) - RM339
RT-N15U (Broadcom) - RM199
RT-N14U (Ralink) - RM185
RT-N12HP (Broadcom) - RM229
RT-N12 (Broadcom) - RM139

All the models above have QoS for you to control the bandwidth.

Thank you

Hi joonwei23,

May I know what is your current firmware? The latest one is 3.0.0.4.370, here is the link to download it.

http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN12_C1/#support_Download_35

This will change the interface of the router. Once updated, please do a factory reset on the device and redo the setting.

This version of firmware will provide better control on the QoS.

Thank you

Hi phantom_zero,

5Ghz Will have better transfer rate compare to 2.4Ghz. But the down side is 5Ghz will have lower coverage area.

You can turn on the QoS, once turned on, it will have higher priority on Gaming and Surfing net.

And like I said, I don't think there is a lag free modem router out there. It need to depend on the Internet line also.

Thank you

Hello,

How do I set up QoS on the RT-N16 so that HTTP download will always have at least 40% download bandwidth against P2P?

Hi phantom_zero,

In term of performance, RT-N15U will be better and in term of feature, RT-N14U will be more compare to RT-N15U.

You can refer to our website to compare this 2 models.

Hi Point Ex,

You want to set HTTP to 40% and P2P 60%?

You can set the Download Bandwidth as shown on the image below. Under the User-defined Priority.

Do update the firmware to the latest. The latest firmware is 3.0.0.4.354.

http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN16/#support_Download_35.

Thank you
