Playing the game on arcade cabinets is irrelevant to playing it on the 3DS. The controls on the 3Ds includes simplified controls that allows fireballs or other supers be executed at one touch on the bottom touch screen. Even if you maintain the "Pro" config instead of the "Lite" config, I can confirm that after 30 minutes, you'd wanna return to the "Lite" config, pressing 3 buttons at the same time to execute Supers is a tall order on the 3DS.
