Delete ClientRegistry.blob..? Or get it from a friend who's currently logged into Steam.

I always get those every now and then, don't worry.. its very normal.

Its been 1 month for me.... WTF is wrong with steam... goddamn crap... if Fallout New Vegas comes out for Xbox n it doesn't need steam to play then screw the pc version i'll get that one.

ClientRegistry does nothing for me... but every time i unset Read only for the steam folder it auto sets it back to read only. But the steam.exe is not read only.

If anyone got a working zip for steam post it up.

Yeah hotspot shield works, but we really shouldn't be required to install another program just to get something as simple as logging in and updating to work. Shame on you, Valve. Everyone, just go complain to them. I tried it but I forgot to mention I didn't have any incompatible programs running and they replied by linking me to the page which lists the incompatible programs.

Based on my experience, Steam Support isn't very helpful. They might solve your problem temporarily, but you can be damn sure that it's gonna strike you again & say hello to them again. vmad.gif

Try reinstalling Steam via the zip file provided by Deimos.

Hopefully you won't need to restore each game individually.

I have my steam setup from Metro 2033... i do not have:

AV
Firewall
UAC

All ports r forwarded, Xbox live works perfectly fine Starcraft 2 probably will after i install it.

I can see my pc pinging steam servers but they do not reply... crappy bastards.

Yeah I remember when I was having trouble logging in and updating. The only thing that worked for me then was a VPN service that I had to pay RM30 each month doh.gif
I decided to take 2 months off steam games and when I came back it had somehow fixed itself tongue.gif

I believe they r blocking certain ips but i could be wrong though i see no reason why their server does not reply to my steam client ping.

Hotspot seems to work.... lets see after all the updating that i can log in.

BTW do i need hotspot on to login or i can turn it off?

N is hotspot some sort of proxy?

Added on July 29, 2010, 12:48 amOMFG i finally got on after 1 month!!! Now i can install my MW2 n get Fallout New Vegas. Gotta tell my friend who is trying to get just as long about hotspot.

Thx guys.

Screw Steam.

The problem is not with Steam. The problem is with TM.

Logins via Streamyx and Unifi have been problematic for the past 3 weeks or so already. Even refreshing via the in-game server browser is fubar-ing.

Seems okay for Maxis and Digi BB though. Have not tested it myself, since I'm not a subscriber, but friends who do seem unaffected.

On another note, having dealt with using Steam in several countries, other than Malaysia (Or in this particular case, tmnet.), I dare say that most Steam related problems this side of the world is usually ISP related.

Hey Hotspot decided to put ads in the steam client? WTF! Now any link I click in the client also opens a new window showing some anchorfree hotspot bullshit.

When this happens to me it's usually because my network traffic's congested with p2p or my sister downloading from Youtube. Or even her own Steam client. Hoping I won't get similar issues when FNV comes out too, but in any case I'd probably default to offline mode after getting that installed. Less hassle, really.

As usual. I think TM was experimenting with something. My connection was slower than usual.
