New YES 4G user here, using The Huddle MiFi. Speed test ranges from 11Mbps on wired USB, to 6 Mbps on WiFi. Areas tested include Bukit Bintang Plaza, Lowyat Plaza and Pavilion.

Will be testing it tomorrow on the ERL train as I go to work to KLIA, to substantiate their claims of maintained speed/connection aboard their YTL ERL train moving at 160km/h.

2. what is the initial payment needed to start using the service? i read that the minimum usage per month must be rm30, but i saw from yes.my stating that the package is rm50.. kinda confused

RM50 for processing/application fee. Then the amount you want to start with as credit topup is up to you, I suggest a minimum of RM30 to keep it alive. I topped up RM100. My plan is to track my usage pattern and check how much data I use and from there onwards, top up as appropriately monthly.

3. finally, are there any contracts to it? means if i use for 1 month, can i terminate it the following month?

Yes, you can terminate any time you want. No contractual obligations are imposed upon you. The only cost to you is the cost of purchasing the device to access the YES 4G network (Go, Huddle, Zoom, Buzz). From my understanding, once purchased, these devices are yours to keep.

If you're talking about the login to check balance via yes.my and clicking the "Yes ID" button, the explanation was that it is not accessible after the DoS attack on their side. The only way to check for your balance is by calling their helpline and get them to check it that way. I too can access YES Mail, but unable to use the same credentials to access my account to check my balance. I too topped up RM100 credit. My first thing to do today would be to call them up and insist on a persistant reliable way to check my balance without the need to call them.

Setting up my Huddle using the same credentials works. The same credentials does not work when trying to access the YES ID page on yes.my. Hope that helps.

RM399 for Huddle. Rm99 for Go. RM50 for activation fees, no such thing as RM10 for stamp duty. No prices yet for the Zoom or the Buzz since they're launching in December.

The Yes ID portal has been down because of the DoS attack that happened before, they had to disable the portal to stop the breach further. The only way to check your balance is calling their support number. I've topped up RM100 for mine, and I am as uneasy as the next guy because I cannot check my balance left.

where can i check coverage area? yes.my is very lacking in info. coverage area, pricing plan, total cost of ownership, discounts/rebates, hidden fees all not there.... they should hire the guy who designed digi's website.

coverage.yes.my.

I'll probably be heading back to Lot 10 later, I need a way to check my balance, the online portal is busted, can't login through the YES IS tab to check my account details. Calling them on 03-83130000 to check balance, had me being told by the automated messaging that my balance is ZERO. WTF!

Just came from their Flagship Store in Lot 10, enquiring about the balance check of my account. They acknowledge the fact that the self-service accoount checking system is down and even if you check via their 03-83130000 number, the amount reflected would not be accurate. The only way to check accurately is via their internal system available at their stores. Checked mine, I've only used less than RM2, which equates to around 60MB+ of usage.

I hope they fix the online portal so that checking of balance/usage is self-service to the customer.

Their web portal and the call center is not yet up lar.
Anything just email them at yescare@yes.my
Within 2 to 3 hour they only will reply.
I think they not enough workers.

Wrong. It was up for some folks, they can login into their pre-registered account yesterday, but their account balance is inaccurate. My buddy's account balance, when he logged into, shows -RM50 balance! I called their call center and went through the process of inputting my account details and got an account balance of RM0. The system is up, but the accuracy of the data isn't there yet. I'm not gonna go crazy with downloading at this time, I'll wait until their system is up and running with traceable data balance.

The fastest way right now is not email, but Twitter. They have dedicated Twitter account named @Yes4G and @YesCare, and I've gotten response from them about my enquiry on account balance in less than 15 minutes of posting the tweet to them. However, since they're swamped with multiple requests of varying scope, they've promise to either get back t me via Twitter itself or the contact details I've provided to them.

I did a plethora of speedtests on Speedtest.net, while on YTL ERL train to KLIA. Speed ranges from 1.96Mbps to 7Mbps, all the while the ERL train was traveling at top speed. Looks like they kept their word on this claim.

Screenshots of these speedtests are in my Twitter feed. The fastest I got was while approaching Putrajaya/Cyberjaya station and Salak Tinggi, ranging from 5- to 7Mbps. I'm using a Huddle by the way.

Added on November 23, 2010, 11:27 pmAs for balance checks, I did that as well before boarding the ERL train at KL Sentral, at their Yes Store on the Departure side. They've acknowledges the difficulty on accessing the YES ID portal, but I was given a statement that the YES ID portal for account checking will be up and running in 48 hours. Whether this claim would be fulfilled remains to be seen.

I still have RM98 in my account, topup was RM100. Which seems accurate since all I did was only speedtests and one singular iTunes AppStore download sized at 31Mb on my iPhone.

Yup. That's RM210 worth of topup if you're using it purely on data. Looks like I can start splurging on my downloads now without worry. Until December 19th that is. tongue.gif

and have you tested it with your playstation?

Not sure if it is. It was drizzling between KL Sentral and Bandar Tasik Selatan but the speed held on. No, I have not turned on my Playstation for months on end already. Drunk on life. smile.gif
