QUOTE(PonG @ Jul 30 2010, 10:11 AM) yeah..i have read your blog. this was my 1st time to sony centre. previously only going to buy. The good thing of sending your stuff to Sony Style@The Curve is after office hours time, but I believe your stuff will be transferred to Mid Valley as well for servicing. As for the good part of sending to the Service Center at Mid Valley directly; if the issue is not fully solved, you can request the counter to ask the engineer to come over and talk over the issue that you have (might be the case of misunderstanding of what you really have). Happens to me when I had an issue with my A300 mirror box, I had a chat with the service engineer to have them understand my problems).

Summary: Super zoom lens is suitable for people who want all range but doesn't want to carry many lenses while travelling. Using the SAL18250 I don't notice any difference in sharpness when compare to 18-70 kit within similar range but definitely there is a small difference when compare with 55-200 kit on a similar range. Nevertheless, it's a convenient "Mother of all lens" in term of range minus the aperture and focusing speed.
The Sigma 18-250 HSM however would have faster focusing speed than the SAL18-250, but larger and heavier.

QUOTE(ieR @ Aug 19 2010, 12:28 PM) i dont know u, but i shoot cooperate group photo of over 20 people usually, time up to 50 people. i tested both lens... at F8, 18-250 at 18mm cant never gives the pop out sharpness the 18-70@F8 18mm gives. but now, with my tamron, F4 give hell crazy sharpness, F5.6 even sharper... hardly go F8 because it will make background too dark True... I never shoot up to 20 people so I won't know I don't expect so much from the lens but only for convenience when travel.
