hahaha...i know that...thats y i m looking for something i need within my budget...keke...
btw, my internal flash in a550, the slowsync can up to 1/160 only...external flash can go faster?...1/1000??
*
why would you need slow sync speed of above 1/160
if it is bright enough to drop bump the slow sync speed to that range, it should be good enough to use fill flash
unless you do very up close kind of shot
but then, the condition should be enough to not use flash

if you had said that, then u'd be wrong, I took this photo using SAL55200..  icon_rolleyes.gif  I was pleasantly surprised to see the result!
*
the SAL55200 sure is an incredible lense
my best shots are mostly from it
sharp and good bokeh, even when wide open

went to the penang PCFair
the NEX promoter is pretty good, knows her stuff well, explains things well
she demoed the anti-motion blur by simulating bump like when one is trying to shoot from a bus/car/truck
the shutter went off like machine gun
a question to HEX owners here, how does the grip of the NEX3 as compared to the NEX5?

if u wan good grip, grab a DSLR.

nex is already design to mimic compact camera, and we all been holding compact way long ago, even if Nex is Flat, i'd buy it too. tongue.gif

I forgot to ask, is that promoter pretty?
Usually Sony hire a lot young leng lui for promoter one. Some events they have kawaii japanese girl promoter too, hehe  wub.gif

AND if you say the NEX shutter is like machine gun already, wait till you hear those 8-11 "bullets" per second punya "machine guns", you won't call NEX shutter machine gun d.
NEX's continuous shots a bit slow la. Success rate of capturing moving object for a noob photographer like me will be pain in the a*s sweat.gif
*
i think the promoter is with the dealer
not those that comes in costume and all

im not sure la... but 55200 is a good lens IMO... i havent tried the 18250.. but people tend to favor the 16105 more over the 18250.. so my suggestion would be sell the 1855.. buy 16105... and buy beercan (70-210).. haha... nice set...

good suggestion!

thanks for your commend , my kit lens are 17-80 and 55-200mm, by the way , waht is the market price for selling flash f42am and 50mm?
*
with 187-70 and 55-200, i would say that it would be the a2xx/a3xx series
for that i would say that the flash would be more useful
if it had been the a5xx series, then the 17-50 f2.8 might still be able to cut it for most indoor conditions
but a2xx/a3xx, it's a bit pushing the sensor

In dilemma which 1 want to buy either flash f58AM or 70-210mm f4 beercan... really hope can own both but no budget only can choose 1....can gv suggestion?  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Mostly take landscape, food and potrait and currently using 18-70 kitlens.
*
landscape and food might not be so suitable for the beercan
potrait can do with both beercan and flash
tough one

how about kitty for landscape
tammy sp60/90 for food or potrait?

or 50f1.8 + f42am?

QUOTE(NekoRacing @ Aug 11 2010, 10:32 PM)
Hi people,

I am newbie in photography, and in midst of planning to get a Sony Nex 5.

My father has an old Minolta camera, and I've managed to dig out his old stuff. I've found two types of lens.

1. Minolta MC Tele Rokkor-PF 1:2.8 f=135mm
2. Minolta MC W.Rokkow-SG 1:3.5 f=28mm

The golden question is;

Am I able to use these lens on the Sony Nex 5? If yes, do I need a third party adapter, where and how can I get them?

Secondly, the MC Tele Rokkor seems to have some fungus or something dirty inside the lens, is it possible to get it fixed?

Last but not least, I hear from my friend that I can purchase Nex 5 cheaper in normal camera shops, is it true? How much cheaper can I get if I am interested in getting the two lens package for the 5?

I'm a newbie in photography, which lens package should I go for? I think RM3k is really expensive, can I survive on the 16mm?

Thx
*
it is true you'll find cheaper price from "normal" camera shops
as for the NEX5 twin kit, from what i gathered, it is very very tight on supply
a shop quoted me 2700 but can't give me the expected arrival date
price seemed to be very good but then without stock, they can name any price they want
