applemango: there has to be a limiting factor for u to upgrade (if u want a meaningful upgrade)... like when i upgrded from the a100 -> a700, i wanted higher ISO and better body build...

ahpingko: i think anything, (even new) things have potential defects... smile.gif

QUOTE(albnok @ Aug 4 2010, 04:14 PM)
Mikeshashimi: I had the Minolta 35-105mm F3.5-4.5 RS - not such a good lens. Quite weak in resolution. The 35-105mm F3.5-4.5 Original I hear is much better.

signither: Missing 24 megapixels already ah? wink.gif Though nothing beats 71 gigapixels in terms of Let's Enhance-ability. biggrin.gif

National Geographic pictures are more of the real thing and have more substance compared to camera magazines. Haven't flipped through a Discovery though.

well.. i just got it.. for a cheap price not a problem la.. im gonna test it later.

rayng: IMHO, not as sharp as i thought it would be. kind of disappointed... thinking of selling mine real soon... smile.gif you can ask MoO's opinion also... but i feel i prefer this compared to the 50mm 1.8 despite the smaller aperture.

Added on August 4, 2010, 9:22 pmQuestion:

should i sell my 5600HS and fund for a cobra? or should i keep and fund for a cobra from scratch? happy.gif

yeah. what william say is correct.. i dont like the 50mm because its too tight and i seldom use it (when i had it) at 1.8 .... this 28mm f2.8 is just right.... not too tight and at the same time u can take photos at considerably wide angles.

hw bout sharpness? is it as good?

it is not THAT sharp as i stated before.. but it is acceptable... for the price u cant expect it to be CZ-type sharp right? its not too soft either.. u can check at dyxum for more sample photos.

rayng: dont be in doubt.. you wont regret buying the 28mm... sell ur 50mm... lol... do u need the extra 22mm wider or the wider aperture? when i bought the 28mm i targeted the 'wide-ness'...

@mike : well, actually i am aiming for the wideness...normally on 50mm i shoot at f2.5 (consider sharp for me )

my concern is whether the range is suitable for portraits or not ... sad.gif
*
well.. u can keep ur 50mm if ur budget permits u to keep it la... otherwise, can sell and always can buy back next time... for me, im aiming for the 35mm 1.8 ....
rclxms.gif

anyway, i just checked a pic of my friends face i took with my 28mm... and i can tell u that can see his pores... lol.. quite disgusting.. id post a 100% crop but i dont know how.. lol.

u fire direct flash with low iso and high shutter speed and small aperture also can keep the background dark ma.

but the one albnok took has an almost perfect exposure... and the flash falls gently on the face...
