QUOTE(tanjq87 @ Aug 12 2010, 01:43 PM) As in the effect of pulling the 'blacks' in lightroom (I think by pulling the curve can achieve that also). by pulling the blacks, do you mean by making the blacks lighter? the way i could think of is to slightly over exp the scene. or you could use a high DRO setting.Any setting in camera can achieve that? |

QUOTE(tanjq87 @ Aug 12 2010, 02:02 PM) err, the opposite of it, make the blacks darker, like more contrasy look. but i've tried increasing contrast in camera, it doesn't seem to be the effect i want. then why not under exp the shot? then using PP to make the lighter greys whiter. if you prefer in-cam only, turn off DRO completely. u can try playing around with 'Zone', putting it at +1 or +2 Added on August 12, 2010, 2:23 pm QUOTE(Raiko @ Aug 12 2010, 02:18 PM) bro, its not worth repairing a kit lens... but if you insist, you can send it to sony service centers at The Curve or at Midvalley. This post has been edited by lwliam: Aug 12 2010, 02:24 PM |

QUOTE(shootkk @ Aug 12 2010, 02:58 PM) albnok : Thanks! I'm getting real tired of a certain someone going on and on about WB, know what I mean? So figured that it'll be much less of a hassle to get the WB right in cam. +1QUOTE(hazril @ Aug 12 2010, 03:02 PM) it's like eating and drinking...how u eat or drink, the main point is to satisfy ur needs...correct...??? eh bulan posa nih talk about food pulak... lolQUOTE(ahpingko @ Aug 12 2010, 03:06 PM) i just now bought Digital SLR magazine from Borders...i saw Ray Ng picture featured in the mag....wow...bravo, alpharian!.. if u dont submit, how u know not enough standard? if u feel yourself not enough standard, why not try to improve yourself to achieve that standard?i also wan to submit 1 of my picture..but scare not enough standard..... Added on August 12, 2010, 3:20 pmso albnok, wouldnt under exposing the shot generate black levels at 0 edit: with addition to checking the shadow clipping on the histogram. how about turning off the DRO that i suggested? since DRO works by boosting up the shadow areas. QUOTE(fansoption @ Aug 12 2010, 03:48 PM) that pic, cjlai took it off the internet... if the photog shot the pic while pushing the lens' limit, then it should be at f/2.8 with f/4.5's light transmitivity. and from the looks of it, i dont think there was flash involved, natural directional lighting is highly possible though.QUOTE(albnok @ Aug 12 2010, 03:59 PM) lwliam: No - black level is a RAW concept. yeah, then i think what i've understood before this is the same as what you have explained. If your raw has 15 15 15 in the shadows, and you increase your black levels, the 15 15 15 will become darker. Underexposing does work, but it also causes noise (if you were to brighten the midtones and highlights). Less photons mean more noise. So I'd rather expose enough to avoid clipping highlights, and then use the black levels to put whatever should be black, in black. DRO does affect the camera's metering - the stronger DRO settings will cause a faster shutter speed. Less photons saturating the highlights, and more midtones get brightened. The black level is also turned down for the JPG. electron: I like the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 EX DC because it can focus very close - 20cm from the sensor to object at all focal lengths. You can even focus on a finger touching the lens! |

hahaha, everyone will be using uncle ian as benchmark.. if he buy means its gonna be green light to go get.... but exactly, if its a CZ or a G, then its different story, but this is like any other standard superzoom with variable aperture. way too overpriced..
