Just finished my first playthrough as Hawke mage on Nightmare difficulty... The difficulty is okayish, I don't find the bosses IMPOSSIBLY tough, even High Dragon, you'll learn how to handle them very fast after dying a few times and knowing what they do at different stages. I used the same save to kill High Dragon and Meredith a few times... nothing special just time consuming.

The hardest part for me is when you are surrounded by a lot of Shades/Rage Demon or Mage, those irritating stuff either keep disturbing your spellcasting,knock your healer back or they kill you in one shot (the Mages)

On my first playthrough I did quest with Fenris but stopped halfway so didn't recruit him, end up cannot do the companion quest to get the best lightning staff. I also missed XenbeckXasdasdhardtospell, didn't spot the evil tome, that might be the hardest? No idea.

Second game now with my Warrior, I have to admit that it was much harder than playing as a Mage. I died a few times as Ancient Rock Wraith where as my Mage breezes through the battle... My AOE skills always one shot my teammates too

By the way, what's the fuss over Varric's Bianca lol, I found a lot of shortbows at the end that has higher damage, heavily greened and has a slot or two Maybe my level was too low.

The speed rune outshines the 4 slots... I was getting 37% speed at the end with my 13x Physical Dmg Bianca.
