Hi guys ,

My Maxis Iphone 4 contract will be reaching 1 year period since last year September . I feel like terminating it because rm100 is a little bit too much for subscriptions , where there is a choice for Digi Smartplan for only rm68 basic .

I don't call that much , so is there any other cheaper plan I can apply from Maxis , akin to the Digi's smartplan ? I couldn't find any in the Maxis website , a plan with mobile usage + internet .

I switched to Hotlink from Maxis Iphone plan.

Currently using Hotlink + data plan RM18/ 2 weeks (100mb).

So it will work out to be about RM40/month ( 200MB) data allowance and Active 10 charges only (most of my calls to maxis number only , so it's cheap at 12sen/min and 1 sen/sms)

My bill now currently about RM70-80 /month with this combination.

As for Digi, I did some calculations - not worth it if you do call or sms a lot of Maxis numbers. For RM1 with hotlink, I can send 100 sms to 10 maxis numbers , but with Digi you have to spend about RM10.....

For me, Prepaid is a good temporary solution especially at this time when Iphone 5 is just about to be launched. You can port (MNP) to other telco to try out their coverage at your own convenience. If you sign up for another postpaid plan, it's most likely you will be tied down to some contract one way or another. Even though there is no contract, the postpaid termination is definitely more 'mafan'.

So far, Hotlink works fine for me, especially when I only use my iphone to Whatsapp and read facebook during lunch break only (and traffic jam - ok i know not suppose to do it!). But if you data requirements is more than 200mb/month, then this suggestion may not be suitable for you.

I don't call and sms much , so probably its worth a shot going Digi smartplan . Too bad there aren't any Maxis smartplan , because I'm satisfied with Maxis coverage and line quality so far .

Not really , I did take your suggestion into considerations . While it is cheap , I would prefer more internet data allowance . Being charged on data per use isn't really what I'm looking for .

What I really seek from Maxis is some sort of call plan with 3G , with cheap basic price excluding call/sms but with plenty of data quota , or in another word , Maxis version of Digi Smartplan 68 .

LOL joking.

But you should also read Digi users' experience with their network and coverage before switching. Maxis is expensive but I have to admit their network is superior and even better than Celcom sometimes.

Yep , I do aware that Maxis had superior line quality , judging from 1 year experience myself , and from my digi friend's output . However , the idea of saving around RM40+ per month just tempt me enough to switch .

I'm a frequent flyer that goes overseas often & I need to check my mails regularly.

So I would like to check, are there any plans from Maxis for iPhone that includes International Data Roaming? The closest thing to what I wanted is Blackberry's Data Roaming Plan but that's for Blackberry only.

I just renew my contract to RM50+58 to get HTC Sensation 2 weeks ago, then this week my boss gave me an iPhone 4 suddenly, so is it possible for me to nego with Maxis to switch my contract to Ivalue/iData Plan?
