iData has to be paired with the value plus plans. so let's say u have value50, and u want 500mb, u need to get idata2 which is rm50/month. that equals to rm100/month

without idata, u can juz get the maxis mobile internet plan, which is rm58/month for 500mb. so if u have value50, that's rm108/month. only extra rm8 difference but obviously u need to pay full price for the iphone itself
*
Hmm, in a way iValue plans can be slightly cheaper too right.
Actually all have pros and cons, just depends on which suits us more.

Thanks for the info man!

There are rumours about the August Event right?
So I guess Apple will announce the release date for August batch at that time.

alamak... that is old news. Steve already said wave 4 is September. What we want to know is, are we in Wave 3, August, or Wave 4, September.

typical Maxis / Digi thinking... since they already are here, they don't need to bring it out quickly... cos whatever it is, we still have to buy from them. so they can launch in December also... Malaysians still have to buy from them sad.gif
*
Yeah, but it seems that Malaysia is very unlikely to be in the August batch.
In a way, we can say that the iPhone 4 is coming very soon too as Maxis asked us to stay tuned in their E-mail, right?
I feel better this way. lol

Pre-order is usually 1 week before the release.
So if its coming out in early September, the pre-order will start in late August.

omg... now still have ppl keep mention this problem....

if tat is a problem y so many keep buying it?

honestly if the problem still there u still will buy it?
*
Very true. My friends in Australia and the forumers here who already have iPhone 4 mentioned that it isn't an issue.

In fact, the antennagate is never an issue. Those Americans just overblown the real situation. Maybe because the signals are too weak in many of the areas over there.

Just don't get it if you think it's an issue.
So that I have a greater chance to get the phone LOL

Everyone keep saying that I'm dumb to get the iPhone 4. Argh. Pisses me off.
*
What's so dumb about getting an iPhone 4?
Because there are better phones like Blackberry and Android phones?
In my opinion, in terms of productivity and usefulness,
Blackberry is way less productive compared to iPhone due to the lack of apps.
Android phones are very customizable and have the potential, but because its too open, they have no control over their android market which resulted in many malicious and no-privacy apps that could impact the users. They really need to be careful while downloading apps onto their phone.

How ignorant is a person to say that this is dumb.
Nothing is perfect and everything has pros and cons.
Of course, iPhone has many limitations too, but at least I get to do everything I want everyday, without worrying that my info will be disclosed to the public (Those apps that I use are safe, at least).
I'm not like many people who don't wanna use iPhone because its too common.
I love it because its capable of being more than just a phone. Its also an internet device, a gaming device and a very productive tool.
Don't care about the others if you really think that one is good and useful.

This is why I still stick to iPhone since 2007 among these top three brands.

My finals will be in November...I hope I don't get too distracted by my shiny new phone!  drool.gif
Well said! Personally, I think the Blackberry is ugly...no offense to BB lovers out there! I dunno, there's the screen and beneath it there's a gazillion buttons, and I can't stand small screens. The iPhone however, is sleek and has this classy, minimalistic look! happy.gif Not to mention thousands of apps available...
*
Hmm, its unique.
Don't you realize that its the only brand where almost all of its models come with horizontal screen?
Its like Blackberry's trademark.
RIM used to be famous of its powerful enterprise features but no longer.
Still cool though, I see some girls who can type really fast on their BB. lol

haha.. ya its a matter of getting used to it actually.

i myself am using a BB for office use and it really helps in getting the connection all the time especially with emails and messengers. but still, my true love is always iPhones! its special and just see how many thousands apps out there for us to choose. we'll be spoilt!

and being mac user for nearly a decade, apple never let you down wink.gif
*
Don't use Apple products especially iPhones and Macs.
Too hard to control yourself, and you can never go back. lol

OMG I'm out of topic.

Gotta wait till september la.. Steve jobs said it is coming to 88 more countries on september!
*
Its not 88 countries MORE. Its in TOTAL as of September.
Steve mentioned in the keynote that there's an August batch before the September batch.

5 countries in the first batch on the 24th of June,
18 more countries including South Korea in July,
24 countries in August and 40 countries in September.
So its 88 countries in total.

Maybe Apple will merge the August and September batch. No one knows.

After Raya, meaning... 10 September. Pre-ordering usually is 7 days before launching date?

BTW, in the MAXIS FAQ for iPhone 4 said :

5) Will there be a pre-booking for the iPhone 4? When will Maxis inform me of the pre-booking and is a deposit required?
For the moment, there will not be any pre-booking for the iPhone 4. However, by registering your interest, you will be updated if there are any changes.

NO PRE-BOOKING?
*
Haha they just don't wanna make it so sure now.
Of course there will be a pre-order.

@fuiyo,
Er.. so what happens after it's expired? Do they call U to let U know so U can sign up for a new plan or they still charge U based on the existing plan except U can leave Maxis anytime U want ? biggrin.gif
*
They said it is a 1 or 2 year plan when you signed up for one.
However they assume that you will continue on this plan should you didn't terminate it and switch to other plans.
I guess I'll get a one-month prepaid plan. lol

you mean that they automatically get you into another 1 yr contract if didnt terminate??
*
Yes, they'll continue it.
Unless you terminate (Termination through calls are not accepted) it in the maxis centre.
This is what they told me when I first thought that Maxis will automatically terminate my iValue plan.

@fuiyo,
I'm not really bothered (but if I think about it, my 12 month plan should be up too by now, or in the next few days) since I signed up for iData 2 and it's cheaper if they leave me on that plan since I pay RM50 p/month instead of RM58 p/month if I wasn't contracted biggrin.gif
*
Haha yours is different.
Mine's iValue 2! =.=''
Should have got the iValue1.
Can't believe I paid RM55 extra for every month for 1 year. Sigh

Btw guys, the iP4 antenna issue still exist in this coming launch. New batch with fixed units will only release in October. That's when Apple expires it's free bumpers claims. For those who can wait, the October stocks will be the perfect choice. And those who can't wait, can get the existing stocks with bumpers.
*
The iPhone 4 antenna is not an issue.

@fuiyo,
Anyways, u talking about it taking a lot of bandwidth, but how does this differ to the 3G Video calls dated few years back?? 3G Video calls are nowadays are the same price as normal calls already...
*
Of course those 3G video calls in the previous years require much lesser bandwidth, as those are 3ggp format. The difference is really big, if you seen both video calls before.

We don't need to get the micro sim now, right?
Can just change it and will receive it immediately when we get the iPhone 4. Is it so?

got easy payment installment for certain banks... anyone know if i can use debit card for easy payment?
*
I checked out with the Maxis center in Pyramid.
Credit cards including AMEX and Diner's as well as debit cards (Maybank with the cherry picture) are acceptable during the upfront purchase only.
AMEX and Diner's are not accepted for installment.
