I believe Maxis will price the IP4 similar to 3Gs for direct sales with Hotlink but probably better pricing range with plans to counter Digi. If it is late August, then I'll be tempted to upgrade my 3Gs as well.
*
really hope that's true... at least juz dun charge us for extra data above the quota like digi tongue.gif would've get from digi but dun wan to change my number (iphone plans need new registration right?) plus miri dun have digi turbo3g for now hehe. supposedly will have in september but im not taking the risk

the ivalue plan was never cheap neway. rather u take the value50+data58..atleast the 50bucks includes sms with fone call. d oni drawback is no free sms n mms lar..
*
eh really?

for ivalue 100.. then lets say i sms 1 time to a celcom number... will i be charged rm100.10?

i txt off-net quite a lot. if what u're saying is true then i should probably get value50 + data58. 333 mins free calls is nice but i dont call much

yeah..ur right.. any extra sms off-net is charged on top of the 100bucks.. the 333mins is not free actually but .15sens per min..which amounts to 50bucks for 333mins..so the per minute rate is not really cheap oso cmpared to ivalue which is 12sens i tink..
*
can explain the bolded part? :S

i call very little, off-net sms a lot, n 500mb should be enough for me. so better get value50 + data58 or ivalue1?

ivalue1 is 100 = Rm50 for calls (333mins) and Rm50 for 500mb data. so the Rm50 for 333 mins is basically 0.15sens per min. and d rm50 is oni for 333mins, no sms included in it. so its 333mins (rm50) + 500mb data (rm50) =  rm100. easy? if u sms off-net alot, gettin the ivalue plan is like suicide coz all offnet sms's will be charged extra on top of the ivalue commitment fee. get the idata or value50+data58..
*
oh i see. wow thanks a lot man, i should probably go for idata then smile.gif

for the pre-order, will they give priority to postpaid users or what?

yea i plan to do like tat...but the free 500mb still available? and only for youth club? i have a 017 hotlink for 3gs last time and used like 1 year for the free 500mb...and registered in the youth club...
*
im just assuming the plans are exactly the same as the 3gs. not sure if it will still be available. the free 500mb is for any hotlink plan, not necessarily youth club

After 1 year, you won't get any more free data.

If they follow the same system as last year, the answer is yes.

I pre-ordered my Hotlink 32GB 3GS and collected it on the first day of launch, 31st July 2009!
*
that's good news. for 16gb iphone, assuming reload rm30 per month, and mobile internet rm68/month (after the 1st year).. totals up to only rm4026 in two years. 2490+(24*30)+(12*68). assuming the outright price is really rm2490 lah hehe

i think the best part about this plan is i can control so i wont exceed 500mb. if exceed, maxis simply cant charge me if i dun have credit. for postpaid, i dun dare sad.gif

btw, say i have the 500mb free data in a month. suddenly 1 day i decide to surf a lot, can i still get the rm8 1-day mobile internet plan for an extra 500mb?

there's a data counter on the iphone itself. not sure exactly where under settings cuz i dont own one too heheh.

juz reload like rm10 at a time maybe? so if u exceed, worst case juz lose rm10 only instead of paying rm250 smile.gif

need to find a way how to secure a unit for prepaid plan. hmm

QUOTE(fuiyo @ Aug 13 2010, 11:25 PM)
iData right? Yeah its much cheaper than the iValue plans.
But there's something I wanna make sure.

Lets say I'm getting the iData 2 (RM50 per month for 500MB) now and I just reloaded RM50 into my prepaid card for calls and SMSs only.
Maxis will know that I'm on iData 2 so they won't deduct my RM50 credit which is going to be used for calls and SMSs, right?
Instead they'll charge ANOTHER RM50 for the 500MB hence every month I needa pay RM100.
Does it work this way?

Sorry if my questions are stupid.
As I've always been a postpaid user.

If I'm switching to prepaid, does it mean that I'll be less prioritized for the new iPhone 4 compared to other postpaid users who are signing up for the new iValue plans?
*
u're only eligible for iData plans if u use maxis value plus 50 and up postpaid plans. not available for hotlink prepaid

for hotlink u need the Mobile Internet package, which is rm68 per month for 500mb. rm88 for 1.5gb and rm98 for 3gb. this is not an iphone-only package, any phone can purchase

so lets say u reload rm100, n purchase the 500mb plan. so 100-68=rm32, so u credit for calls/sms/etc is rm32. calls n sms rates according to what hotlink plan u use. but then 500mb/month data is free for the 1st year so no need to pay lah biggrin.gif save rm68*12=rm816!

at least that's how i understand it smile.gif

Yeah man, the 3G speed is way slower than the 3.6 that they have claimed.
But most of my friends are Maxis users and I'm very happy with my number LOL
*
i think by now everyone knows whatever the rated speed of thier internet is not the real speed. Shud be common knowledge already heheh

Then how does iData actually work for postpaid users?
*
iData has to be paired with the value plus plans. so let's say u have value50, and u want 500mb, u need to get idata2 which is rm50/month. that equals to rm100/month

without idata, u can juz get the maxis mobile internet plan, which is rm58/month for 500mb. so if u have value50, that's rm108/month. only extra rm8 difference but obviously u need to pay full price for the iphone itself
