It's all quiet on my own Maxis insider side. They were of "Team Kiwi", those who are on the inside would know what that means. The team of people who handled the Maxis iPhone launches before. In fact, I was allowed in, even as an outsider, and even after I've got my own iPhone 3G, to observe their inner workings during the launch.

Both DiGi and Maxis had their "Registration of Interest" phase completed, and usually takes up 3-4 weeks before the actual launch itself. With stocks as tightly controlled this time, expect participants who had registered their interest to be catered to first, along with long-time POST-paid customers. I foresee a lot of people will be disappointed if they decide to play the "wait and see" game, which is why some folks here have QUICKLY changed their stance from being "overly vocal and complaining" to "first in line". I guess the antenna issue wasn't really an issue at all, other than the commonplace "make noise but no substance" sensationalization. whistling.gif

Yeah outright buy no change in price but I think now only got 32GB 3GS no more 16GB. Current promotion also giving free Iphone 3GS under I-Value 4.

You can base your experience getting one from Maxis based on how the oversea launches work, particularly the Australian and Singaporean launch with regard to the major telcos there. Long story short, disappointment and long lines for days with very limited stock was the order of the day. And this is in Australia, where they have the option to get one from an actual Apple Store. What about Malaysia? No Apple Store, and if judging on how the launch in Singapore and Australia, my 7 hour lineup ordeal may be trivial compared to what's gonna happen here on launch day.

First in line, eh? So the "wait and see" fence-sitting stance along with the complaints before has changed to this?  whistling.gif
It's only an issue if you make it one. For the rest who already have theirs and confirmed their observation, it's not even an issue at all, more like overblown out of proportion and the general public eats it up like mindless sheep. whistling.gif

I would like to point it out to you again that your "wait and see" theory is doh.gif . As I said before Iphone 4 has not even reach our shores yet of course Malaysians including me will "wait and see" until it launches here. I have a preference to the warranty and rather not get other countries set and also not willing to pay higher price to people selling it. As you always said go get the Iphone 4 before complaining/discussing about the reception issue which is so sensitive. So YES i want be be FIRST IN LINE to test it out myself and if it is crap I can sell it off easily as I am sure Maxis gonna run out of stock whistling.gif
Also in my context of "first in line" meant that I am trying to skip the queue rather than waiting long hours just to get it not like some people who get it first just to flash it around as they go outside sweat.gif

Next time, may I suggest toning down on the complaints before actually having a hands-on time with the device first? That way, your previous complaints wouldn't look awkwardly contradictory compared to your eagerness to get one now. Sound sheepishly flipflopping now, isnt it? wink.gif

I'd imagine someone like you, who earlier complaints so much as vocal and loud as you were, would rather not get one "first in line" at launch, and take the "wait till September when Apple solves the attenna issue" stance, as eloquently put by that greasy finger food. Would look bad on your credibility when you jongkang-jongkit your stance like this. Hey, I'm just saying..... whistling.gif

Well it is true what Stringfellow is saying...now you will see the wait and see game then after the launch the waiting period is going to be so bad...hope maxis have learn something out from their 3GS sale..some former wait nearly a month after launch in Malaysia to receive the phone..the worst part it is some authorized seller have deauthorised sudden which more units to be cancel and so on..even need to push maxis up and down to receive a unit...this is scenario going to be..those who are waiting have prepared for it..don't complain tgen and create numerous new thread..!!!

I believe Maxis will price the IP4 similar to 3Gs for direct sales with Hotlink but probably better pricing range with plans to counter Digi. If it is late August, then I'll be tempted to upgrade my 3Gs as well.
