Like I said, just a reply to keep the excitement up for potential buyers. This will whip more storm and generate more sales for Maxis. Good if able to launch in August, but seriously doubt it, as Singapore struggling to fulfill their order quotas via telcos or online. Good bet will be September (still 3rd quarter as stated earlier).

why do you guys assume other countries supply is based on ours? the reason why Maxis n Digi are struggling is that Apple expects them to sell x amount, based on pre-order + booking. that's why we need to show interest via their websites.

if Digi can show Apple Asia "we have 10 K people registered" ... then they'll keep at least 10K units for Digi. but it will probably be a time-based thing, maybe 10K for the first 1 month, then if Digi cannot finish them, Apple will take them back or something like this ... at least the telco have a chance to do some sales.

think outside the box people... Apple is very very good at managing hype, supply, logistics AND demand smile.gif

this is getting interesting. if maxis/digi can launch in early sept, then wont make much diff if buying from SG.

only major difference is the price point, and of coz the data plans.

According to Macrumours report, each telco in Australia is given 12-13k iPhone 4.
But only 1 telco alone already received 100,000 pre-orders.
A friend of mine managed to get one on the first day, whereas another was told that he needa wait for 3 more months.
Just like my friend and I both pre-ordered the 3GS last year, but it was only me who got the phone in early august wheres he needa wait for 2 more months.
Poor thing. lol
I do hope that both Maxis and Digi could meet the demand =)

I wonder if Apple will take our iPhones and supply to Singapore, NZ and Australia first who are all facing shortages?
I heard people saying which I doubt so.
No right? Or else we needa wait longer.

steve job will announce the worldwide launch....

this is according to apple not by maxis themselves.

malaysia always is the 3rd wave launching.

according to WWDC 2010,
Launching will be end of June, end of July and end of September.

Steve mentioned in the keynote that there's an August batch before the September batch.
Note that Engadget and many other forums' omitted the Auguest batch in their live blog.

5 countries in the first batch on the 24th of June,
18 more countries including South Korea in July,
24 countries in August and 40 countries in September.
So its 88 countries in total.

But if you calculate, there are just 87 countries. lol
I guess we're in the August batch! =D

Two stages pre-order is it one stage for staff and second stage for maxis customers..?

Few of the staff working in Maxis center are also waiting to buy the Iphone 4 themselves.
