Date of transaction: 23/7/2010

Details of the complaint :
I Bought This Mobo From Him.He Stated In His Thread,Only LAN Port Was Faulty.I'm Ok With It.
Then After COD With Him,I Tried This Mobo.
On The First Time Installing This Mobo,I Thought Its OK,Then After 3 Seconds From The BEEP,The CPU FAN STOPPED.
All Other Fans Working.Execpt This One.
So I've Decided To Try On Other Hardware (CPU COOLER,FANS,PSU,RAM,PROC,ETC).
Still,The Same Thing Happened.

So I'm Not Satisfied With It,I SMS Him To Refund Me.But He Keep Ignoring Me.This Is His Last Reply.

By The Way I'm Not A Newbie Of Installing PC.
I Know What I'm Doing and I Always Check All The Connectors.
But He Still Want To Accuse Me That I'm The One Who Spoiling The Mobo.
So Now He Didn't Reply Me At All.

Did he gave a personal warranty,and if he did give a personal warranty he cannot just simply ignore this regardless what he thinks on how the deal has gone to be

If I was the seller I will take the mobo and test it first and see if got defects or not,if got problem with the mobo surely will need to be refunded and the mobo shall need to be send for repairs.Coz if TS refuses to do so then whats the point of having a personal warranty right ?

If the seller argues that at the time he sells the mobo was still okay,then the buyer too has the right to question back on the legitimacy of the statement from the seller as the seller himself didnt manage to show that the mobo was working right after he took it out from the rig.


Nonetheless I suggest TS takes the mobo first and test it.If it was found that the mobo was faulty then I believe that repair cost should be shared on both sides.I can help RMA if you guys need my help

I've Tested The Mobo Many Times Already Bro..
With Many Other Hardware Also..
I Can Confirm This Mobo Faulty.
Before Entering Bios,The CPU FAN Stopped Already.
Even If This Mobo Still Got Warranty,He Need To Refund Me First,Then He Should Send To RMA.
I'm Not Going To Wait For RMA.

We cannot rely to this 'personal warranty'. The personal warranty given just to make sure he can sell out the stuff. later if got problem, seller will have all the reason to make excuse. the better way to deal with this kind of stuff is to test it in front of seller.

that motherboard gigabyte P35 if i am not wrong warranty 3 years.but according to TS on and off again could be the seller update the bios and suddenly its fails.if others damage sure the motbherboard cant on.and could be the Network port cant use could be lightning strike.the network port cant use is the `intro` the mobo got problem.if can send warranty also with that kind of damage Distribitor will be refused to claim.

Nonetheless you can RMA anything as long as the item is within manufacturer warranty and has no physical damage,apart from that nothing prevents you the right to RMA the hardware

that's not the way how a seller should respond to to such matter. seller should ask the buyer to return the mobo and double check if:

1. it's truly faulty
2. it's still the same item, that it hasn't been swapped.

or rather than asking buyer to send back and also provided if the warranty is still valid, seller can offer a small fee (petrol, postage and RMA charges) to have the buyer to get it RMA'ed by themselve.

if seller could not comply to the above resolutions, he should be blacklisted and place with a dispute tag.

amir_tengkorak, do u know the estimated age of the mobo?

I think gigabyte provide 2 yrs manufacturer warranty right? can someone confirm this? I think the best way to settle this is to ask nightc pay you the RMA fee and maybe petrol if the RMA can be done.

LAN port rosak biasa kena kilat.kalau kata tak boleh boot atau tak boleh on ni distribitor tak banyak tanya.tapi kalau kata LAN port rosak pastu tak boleh on..suspek kilat la.Diorang bukan ganti 1 by 1 terus kan diorang mintak tinggal dan check dulu...check bukan 2-3 hari...aku suspek kalau tak kena kilat mesti masa flash bios bende tu failure...pasal rosak dia 80%.bukan 100%.kalau rosak 100% mobo tak boleh ON.no power.

4 things can void the warranty:

1)burn or crack on items

2)software@setting problem

3)lightning strike/disaster

4)wrong installation

if the barang is new..and the technology still latest thats ok to warranty..but if outdated and oldschool..it will be like..

If distribitor warranty your item who want buy the new item? what happend to the new parts?

Tak caya boleh cuba hantar warranty.sampai 1 bulan mungkin kena tunggu..hantar taiwan la.hantar kat china balik la..kilang tengah check la...kalau dia ganti takpe..kalau dah lepas 1 bulan dia kata itu ini...buang masa je...tapi bende ni ada cara nak elak.

Mobo gigabyte yang baru-baru(2 years ago) semua ni have feautres auto off..kalau setting tu tak sesuai dia akan mati sendiri masa rebooting pastu hidup balik guna setting asal...takde nak main jumper-jumper.

aku pernah pakai mobo ni dulu.aku beli RM 3** kena kilat.exchange 1 by 1.mobo ni siap ada auto OC.apa turbo function bagai.best jugak la main bios dia.try connected cpu cooler without procecssor and try on..should be display blank.no sound and the the fan running properly.

tak salah aku kat kotak mobo ni ada tulis warranty 2-3 tahun kot...aku ingat-ingat lupa la.

tapi aku tak puas hati la dia tak tulis CPU FAN PIN dgn sound port tu rosak.
kalau aku tau memang aku tak beli punya..

Bios boleh masuk tak..? ada chance yg bios corrupt.. last time aku nyer DFI p35 t2-rs salah cara update bios.. pastu jadi camtu.. blum masuk bios dah shutdown..

aku dah sampai ke main game bro.dia ada sikit2 stuck.kadang2 lambat gila nak masuk windows.
ok kau bayangkan la,
aku tekan switch on.
kipas semua pusing..
"wwwwwwwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...."
then "beep!"
terus kipas cpu mati.tak gerak.
aku terus kelam kabut la switch off balik.
so aku cucuk cpu fan connector kat chassis fan pin..baru boleh.

motherboard has been design as cpu fan as cooler fan.if not mobo detect error nanti...cuba cari budak elektronik (yang mahir pasal elekronik) ntah apa cip rosak atau kena ganti..port tu rosak ke controller tu rosak ke.apa ke.

Kalau dah lepas bios maknanyer takder problem dengan bios.. tapi kalau stuck2 tu maybe capacitor problem.. kalau ada gambar board tu dengan jelas lebih elok..

Bios will automatically shutdown when reach certain temperature depend on what u set..

dah lepas masuk windows bro.masalahnya cpu fan tu stop before bios.maknanya memang pin tu faulty.lepas tu dah masuk windows satu hal lagi.
aku pasang lagu max speaker,semut yang nyanyi.stylo.aku dah setting volume kat windows,aku dah connect betul2 audio jack,sama jugak.
aku give up terus aku pakai mobo baru angkat kat orang lain.

ps : aku pakai mobo yang baru angkat tu.aku lupa slowkan speaker,ambik! bunyi meletop rumah aku.hahaha

IMHO, as long as seller offers a personal warranty he should be prepared to accept any such claims on it instead of trying to push blame onto the buyer....just my 2 sen

Anyway, if personal warranty is given and a claim is being made during this time, it's the seller's responsibility to refund the money for board.

I have dealt with the buyer before and he's very flexible in his dealing - i suppose the seller took advantage of this trait

What suprises me even more is that the seller isn't settling his problem is the thread dispute corner.

Has any of the mods sent a PM to him so that he does?

Also, his current sale thread should be locked until this issue is resolved

Totally agree with this. Sometimes, seller need to absorb the loss and willing to replace/refund as long as within personal warranty period unless the item is proven to be damaged by the buyer. DO NOT offer personal warranty if you are unable to honor it
