Has anyone use the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH wireless router before to replace the D-Link DIR-615 wireless router before? Can this wireless router link direct to LAN2 at the Huawei modem base on pr0di9y recommendation.  Can this wireless router flash with DD-WRT 3rd party firmware?
*
I'm using it right now, flashed with the latest release of DD-WRT and was previously running on DD-WRT. There is no VLAN tab in DD-WRT implementation for WZR-HP-G300NH, so, it couldn't replace the DIR-615 entirely. I'm currently using it as AP & router by setting the DIR-615 as network bridge.

Anyway, it seems UNIFI charges us upfront eh? Just received my bill, they're charging me for last month and this month bill, and that is close to RM300.. arghh..

Eh guys..i want to ask something..

What happend if i terminate streamyx late?

Example :

Applied UNIFI on 9th August.
Terminate Streamyx/Phone on 25 August.

What will happend eh?I need to pay RM 150(2MB) for my streamyx for that month?

Or no need pay?
*
You'll be prorated on the streamyx/phone, that means .. unbilled amount up to 25 August will be charged in your final bill.

I managed to completely take away the TM's DIR615 from the network. My solution as follows:

BTU -> RB250GS @Port 5 -> STB IPTV
...........RB250GS @Port 4 -> My Old Router

The RB250GS is Mikrotik 5 Ports Gigabit Manage Switch. I get it from Singapore at USD39.95 + about USD17.00 postage from Singapore to KL. After receive it, you have to upgrade the firmware to version 1.2, every things look fine. I think this is one of the cheap solution to get a stable network with IPTV and Internet. :-)

Singapore RB250GS Dealer website: http://www.soliton-networks.com.sg

Sorry, didn't really get the real reason you wanted to remove DIR-615 but introducing a switch in the equation. rizvanp has shown how to make the network bridge .. which I believe doing almost exactly as what you did above with no extra cost. I haven't got any problem with this setup .. but I wish I can remove the DIR-615 totally but not replacing it with another device ..

Well if you're lucky enough to be one of the Huawei GPON BTU owner then you have the luxury to get connect to the internet via configuring the WAN PPPoE profile. If not then you just have to play the waiting game I guess.
*
Sorry, didn't really read previous threads .. when you said WAN PPPoE profile, does it mean that you made the BTU as a router? Is there anyway that we could use LAN2 as a network bridge or something? I mean, all the non-IPTV traffic going to LAN2 while only IPTV traffic going to LAN1? I couldn't find any english manual on the net, there is one in Chinese .. but surely, I don't understand it at all smile.gif

For me, my WZR-HP-G300NH is currently running on DD-WRT and I guess my backup will be to set it up as per rizvanrp's DIR-615/DD-WRT.

Haha.. okay, for now, everything works perfectly for me .. so, I just pray that the DIR-615 doesn't die on me so soon until Buffalo could come out with the latest DD-WRT which works with VLAN & VLAN tagging smile.gif

Anybody with WRT54G/GS/GL with DD-WRT? It has the VLAN trunking, tagging and port assignment. I just realised that I've this in one of my boxes and got it out and installed DD-WRT just now .. its just that .. I don't understand how the assignment should be .. grr.. probably I could setup this router as a backup for the DIR-615.

Why some says TM charged them almost RM1.5K for installation in their first bill. Now should be FOC right during promo period?

Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH is a most power wireless router at the moment in term of hardware spec. Even more advance than Linksys, Belkin, D-link. It also come with a very attractive price @ RM259 from compu-zone, Low Yat.

Which website u get Chinese setup manual? Mind to share, I am interested to have a look.
*
The Chinese manual can be found here

http://www.docin.com/p-36060313.html

The WZR-HPG300NH with DD-WRT is useless, the transmit power is set to 15dbm and can't go further up, so you'll stuck at 130Mbps between the router and your PC. I'm going back to OpenWRT in a short while.

BTW, anyone else having problem with VOIP? Mine seems to be down, it gives double beeps sound .. and from the status page of HG850a, it gives an unregistered status.

Anyone know if I have to setup my voip? Whenever I make a call there would be loud beeping sound in the background :S
*
Loud beeping? Do you manage to make a call at all? Anyway, I sent them email this morning and it seems that they've fixed mine. I could make a callout now. If that beeping means double beep tone, than, your voip might be down, you may want to call or email them to get it fix.

I went to TMPoint just now to pay my first bill (somehow, they bill you upfront, so need to pay RM291 for it) and the guy at the counter told me that starting my second bill, TM will charge RM8 for normal bill, anybody else getting the same information?

Did your first bill come via post or online? The upfront billing is quite clearly indicated when you sign up.

I'm still waiting for my first bill to come...
*
The first bill come in via post .. well, I signed up via 1-300, so they didn't tell me all other stuff .. the TM Point guy said that we could get the bill online but I've just visited Unifi website, no sign of accessing account information there ..

I signed in via a kiosk in Tesco. The guy there made it quite clear lah. I'm also wondering where the hell do I get to view my bill online...
*
Ok, called them already .. mine is not under itemised billing, don't care really since I don't use the phone that much, so I'm spared from the RM8 charge .. and when I asked the girl on the line, where on earth I could see my bill online .. she said, it should be under customer portal .. told her (and she checked it too), there isn't any from unifi.my website.

Added on September 1, 2010, 2:17 pmOh BTW, we can now pay via maybank2u .. yes! No need to visit the tmpoint anymore ..

Just realised that many of us are not getting the full speed as advertised, and using unifi speedtest, the speed is quite lower compare to the one from speedtest.net .. has anyone able to persuade them to push you up a bit.. my guess they're throttling us based on our package, can vip5 be throttled at probably 5.5 or 6 Mbps instead of 5Mbps? Anyway, I just sent them email asking if they could check and see if the 4.4Mbps from unifi speedtest is normal and within their SLA.

Just wondering if any of you are experiencing corrupt download on files more than 50mb? I've hell lot of problem tonight trying to download nvidia drivers, I've tried downloading through my mbp and also to my newly installed pc and big files are always giving crc errors when trying to uncompress. Just couldn't think of the reason..

Sigh. How come like this?
I thought I am the only one having corrupted download issue. doh.gif

I found out this problem on Friday evening when I couldn't install drivers downloaded from Nvidia website. I thought it was my PC (since it was newly installed) until I tried to use other computer in the house. After few frustrating hours, I downloaded the drivers using my Celcom broadband and they seem to be okay. That was when I being a smart alec and recycle power to the BTU .. and after that, I couldn't get connected to the net at all .. my voip and iptv also gone too. Grrr.. TM tech. came to my house today without fixing an appointment and I was doing my raya shopping .. there must be some stupid people at their backend trying to do some funny stuff.. I'll surely will claim a rebate on the days my Unifi is down.. got their direct contact already .. tm staffs should hide their identity when replying to the customers but they started cc-ing to all in the department and not removing my email from the distribution.. haha..
