Is it just me or are there anyone else with "Out of Area" showing up as caller id for VOIP? I think more importantly is, is there anyone with caller id working for their VOIP?

QUOTE(richard912 @ Sep 1 2010, 09:39 PM) Is it just me or are there anyone else with "Out of Area" showing up as caller id for VOIP? I think more importantly is, is there anyone with caller id working for their VOIP? Not long after posting this last night, my unifi service went KAPUT, no internet, no IPTV, no VOIP. Off and on both ZTE BTU and DIR 615 but to no avail. All the usual lights on the units were on but still nothing. Did the same again to check this morning, still elek |

QUOTE(auronthas @ Sep 2 2010, 05:31 PM) I have had factory resetted and successfully paired them side by side with powerline activity (green light). Maybe your power extension is old? I too use a power extension (Belkin) at one end where my BTU, DIR 615, NAS etc are located but have no problemsWhen I transfer them one at 1st floor; the other at ground floor, turn them on, there is no more powerline activity? Why ? Added on September 2, 2010, 5:43 pm It works now, after I connect direct to wall outlet instead of power extension, Just for a while, the pairing is unstable, I do not have a wall outlet (using power extension) on the other end |

QUOTE(97th Mobile @ Sep 3 2010, 12:27 AM) i want to connect a few things to the internet at one time but do not know the best way Since the BTU will be in your study, so should the DIR 615. Unless you have already or are prepared to pull Cat5e cables from your study to the rest of your apartment, here are your options:need to connect In Study -Desktop PC (1) -Laptop (1) -PS 3 In Living Hall -Laptop (1) -TV (Live update) -Blu Ray Player (Add downloads) -Media player (for streaming video) Much appreciated In Study -Desktop PC (1) -->RJ45 to LAN (1) port of DIR 615 -Laptop (1) -->Wifi -PS 3 -->RJ45 to LAN (2) port of DIR 615 In Living Hall -Laptop (1) -->Wifi -TV (Live update) -->Am assuming this will be the IPTV STB; A pair of Homeplugs to LAN Port 4 of your DIR 615 For these: -Blu Ray Player (Add downloads) -Media player (for streaming video) I would suggest you use your last remaining LAN (3) port of the DIR 615 to connect via another pair of Homeplugs to a switch, to which your equipment are to be connected. |

Was told that VIP5 subscribers may end up having to pay for some of the "premium" HyppTV channels but free for VIP10 and VIP20 subscribers. Don't ask me what those "premium" channels are

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Sep 3 2010, 04:40 PM) And does anyone here get a lot of noise in their IPTV? I keep getting very very loud "bzzzt" kinda noises in my IPTV. Loud enough to obscure dialogue. Actually it's especially worse when there is dialogue. No problems with sound at my end but the picture quality is quite bad sometimes i.e. blocky & pixelated or worse still, just freeze screen from time to time |

QUOTE(billytong @ Sep 3 2010, 04:47 PM) the 100 points per month cannot be carry forward.... which is A HUGE MEH. Hahaha...my wife "forced" herself to check out the VOD to make use of the points. On both occassions, she fell asleep while watching those programs For me, the IPTV is a good alternative for free TV channels as my area tends to have poor reception for some of them. However with the lagginess, even my mum has given up |

QUOTE(billytong @ Sep 3 2010, 05:26 PM) Offer me VOD on F1 race live, then I definitely will pay for it. I am not going to pay the entire Astro sport package just for 1 sport that I am interested. Thats what I am hoping they can make such offer. Same here. 10 points for every race LIVE, I will gladly pay becos I've got nothing better to do with the 100 points anyway |

QUOTE(kaspersky-fan @ Sep 4 2010, 04:47 PM) wow you must be one of those lucky miscapped =D The DIR 615 which came with the installation needed daily restarts as the internet access would fail (I keep it on 24-7 and I'm no heavy d/loader) and totally died after barely one week. It was replaced with another and this second unit has been running relatively fine, no need for regular restarts although the wifi signal sometimes drops for no reasonhows your dlink doin? or you have completely scrape it out? |
