Doesn't the DIR-825 have a 680Mhz proc compared to the 400Mhz Atheros on the WZR-HP-G300NH? :3

WZR-HP-G300NH - Atheros AR9132@400Mhz / 64MB RAM
DIR-825 - Atheros AR7161r2@680Mhz / 64MB RAM

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices
http://wiki.freebsd.org/AtherosMIPS

Maybe the AR9132 is a better router platform tho ;o

EDIT : My VOIP is down too, there's a dialing tone but can't call out. Unreliable >_>
*
DIR 825 has only 8MB Flash memory vs WZR-HP-G300NH has 32MB.

BTW, which criteria is more important processor speed or flash memory? Base on my understanding, large flash memory is important for future DD-WRT firmware upgrade.

It depends on how many features you want with dd-wrt. 4MB is already enough for the dd-wrt build with a pptp server + ssh daemon + other features. In terms of router performance, CPU speed + RAM make a difference. Flash memory doesn't do anything except hold the firmware :3
*
So, have you change ur D-link DIR 615 to Mikrotik RB250GS already?

all done,DIR-825 and TP-Link TL-R488T Quad Wan Load Balance both working well i can combine my VIP20 and BIZ 5 even my streamyx BB 4mb + SDSL enterprise together. icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif  (they haven't terminate both of my streamyx account)
*
Just out of my curiosity, why u need a VIP20 and BIZ5? Are u setting in your office?

BTW, are the BIZ account provide the D-link DIR-825 and VIP account provide the D-link DIR-615?

I felt that with the IPTV too but I assumed it was just due to a firmware upgrade or something (since I haven't turned the STB on for a few months =x).

GPON = Gigabit Passive Optical Network

It's referring to the Huawei EcoLife GPON Terminal HG850a unit from TM  smile.gif

Last time we checked, they only bring in RB750's @ RM310 which is a full router. We only need a smart switch biggrin.gif
*
Can we use the same setup as RB250GS for RB750's?

Want specification of switch is require to replace the D-link DIR-615? Do we have similar switch that is more easily available in Malaysia to recommend in stead of Mikrotek RB250GS?

It needs to support port based and tag based VLANs. The RB250GS is probably the cheapest and most easily accessible managed switch on the market at the moment. It's also already been tested by 4 people here and confirmed to be working well with Unifi.
*
The problem right now is RB250GS only available in Singapore and already out of stock due to overhelming demand from Unifi users.

Do you choose to purchase option power cord as recommended in roc site? Is the standard power cord provided in the package sufficient for Malaysia 230V?

Actually I like the IPTV, eventhough there are not many programs, surprisingly the quality is good, especially on those HD like channel 144, also somehow I notice the SD channels are slightly better than Byond.
Somemore it has BBC-Top Gear  thumbup.gif

The best part is the IPTV will not be affected by under heavy rain or thunder !  tongue.gif
It's an office block.

I did contact them, next shipment should be arriving next 2 weeks about 100 units, if bulk quantity is good, they are willing to re-export from SG to MY without VAT.
Problem now we have to find importer & some good "jalan" with custom to bring-in.

Delivery 1 unit is definitely more expensive as compare to bulk delivery, however they need to know how many units before they can calculate delivery charges.
So if you guys are really interested, may be can start list down so can bulk nego with them.

Is Solitan Network at Chai Chee Road connect to any nearby MRT station. If yes, which station it will be?

I spoken to Solitan boss in SG this morning, to qualify bulk discount, minimum value [any MikroTik product] is USD3k, or about 76 units of RB250GS.
More info as follows:

Without bulk, export out of SG unit price is USD39.90 approx SGD55
With bulk, export out of SG unit price is USD36.5 approx SGD50

Shipping cost to KL:
Approx SGD25 if only deliver 1 unit
They've calculated the optimum size is 20 units in a box which will cost around SGD60~80 approx SGD3~4 per unit

If you go SG and COD there, the price is SGD58.99 with VAT per unit.

I'm not sure whether you guys can hit 76 units or not  sweat.gif , it seem like per order of 20 units seem to be best price. nod.gif

Now, the problem is, if it reaches KL and kenal custom, how ? Anyone can "help" on this? icon_question.gif

Has the stock for RB250GS already arrive in Singapore?

Hi Richard912, thanks for reply and confirmation.

I intend to use Aztech Homeplug LAN 109E (200mbps), what homeplug are you using? Do you use second router (bridge from DIR-615), what's brand?
*
Is your house using 3 phase wiring / single phase. If it is a 3 phase, pls make sure it is the same phase. If not it will not work.

Anyone try Open WRT ? Look like more router support vlan with this custom firmware.

Good news. Open WRT do have the Dlink DIR-825 firmware to support VLAN tag on. We may not need the Mikrotek smart switch anymore.
