Here's a demo of the user interface, the phone itself looks quite nice btw Android Phone recommendation thread, Official thread on "Which should I get?"

Put is this way, 10 million Galaxy S were sold. I don't think there's even half a million at XDA?
And that's just one model, what about all the rest? This post has been edited by Calex: Feb 21 2011, 11:58 PM |

QUOTE(kidmad @ Feb 22 2011, 09:54 AM) -__-! haha angry bird.... i just downloaded to test it out and compare with milestone. well it works better compared to milestone. not too sure why but samsung androids on both galaxy 5 and ace seems to be smooth. IMO as smooth as IP4. For a video of the angry birds gameplay on SGA, check the front page of the SGA thread. |

QUOTE(akash3656 @ Feb 22 2011, 12:27 PM) Was wondering I need a new phone..... What is the cheapest and DECENT android phone that I can buy right now? What you mean can try? All we can try is to push your budget higher. 1. Brand: Anything. 2. Budget: Lower the better <600... In fact 500 is already too much...... 3. Specs: At least 2.1 or 2.2 and can load Custom firmware (UNLIKE Motorola Mielstone) with a decent community support. 4. What you need in the phone: Decent multi touch, UI anything but not crappy, don't want QWERTY and the always hard factor: decent battery life. PS: I know I doubt I can find an Android this cheap without it being problematic..... But I think u guys can try........... Heck even a HTC Magic second hand costs more than 500. |

QUOTE(fuzore @ Feb 23 2011, 11:44 AM) Maybe. Well, very few androids actually support video calling in the first place. The Nexus S does it too, but I'm not too sure about that. You could wait for the Desire S, but not sure when it'll be released either. |

QUOTE(polarzbearz @ Feb 24 2011, 01:53 AM) Hi all android sifus here.. would like to request some recommendations here.. xD The Galaxy Ace is a good choice, the RAM is less compared to the O1, but there are numerous advantages over the O1 (camera, screen, processor). The RAM is enough and should suffice for normal use. Just don't do something like opening 5 tabs of web pages at once. 1. Brand. any.. 2. Budget. (700-950) 3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size) 4. What you need in the phone Basically my phone usage is just SMS, call sometimes, a lil' bit of gaming out of boredom, and also surf web/facebooking/tweeting via WiFi (no to 3G/etc.. need to pay xD) sometimes checking/sync-ing emaill too if possible (via WiFi as well..) I'm currently looking at both LG OP1 and Samsung Galaxy Ace, the Galaxy's design attracted me but it was rumored that it's around 256-386 of RAM only.. so which one should i go after? Or there is any other budget-tight Android phone? I'm currently using Nokia N79 with Symbian S60v3.. and I must say, I can't stand keypad+symbian phone anymore.. lol. also another recommendation request for my friend 1. Brand. HTC/Samsung 2. Budget. (1300-2500) 3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size) 4. What you need in the phone basically about the same usage as me, but maybe lesser. Higher priority on gaming experience.. Thanks! For your friend, its favorable that he waits for the SGS2. If patience is not present within your friend, then get the Desire HD. Or any of the Galaxy S models currently available. (Galaxy S, Captivate, Vibrant) |

QUOTE(sno0py @ Feb 24 2011, 06:28 PM) halo. wanna buy an android phone. which 1 is better? HTC Aria or Gratia? but seems like i cant find any Gratia thread here >< Both the Aria and the Gratia are the same thing, just very minor cosmetic differences. You won't find a Gratia thread here cause no one sells it locally. I'd recommend you look elsewhere than the Aria though, phones like the Optimus One and Galaxy Ace are similarly specced yet much cheaper. |

QUOTE(wanakin @ Feb 25 2011, 03:57 AM) XT720 user here. which one should i buy next? Try out the Samsung Captivate if you want decent specs milestone 2 (a bit bulky, great specs), defy (good specs, syok to hold but high SAR rating) or desire (accs availability, great specs but loudspeaker not loud enuf?) ??? or wait for xperia pro? If a hardware keyboard is your need, try out the G2/ Desire Z. |

QUOTE(creative zn @ Feb 27 2011, 11:24 PM) Hi guys. can recommend me what phone to buy within my budget RM1200. prefer 2nd as brand new is way over my budget. For the Nexus and Desire, both are more or less the same. -HTC HD2 (use desire hd rom and become like desire hd) -google nexus one -HTC desire amoled thanks in advance. As for the HD2, yes, you can flash to DHD ROM and WP7 and stuff, but do note that you have only 448MB RAM and the screen's color is only 65k. |

The Artix's resolution is good at qHD, but do note its a pentile martix display which essentially halves the display resolution when it comes to displaying single colors. Nexus One and SGS owners know this annoying issue very well.
The reason why the new SGS2's display is called SuperAMOLED plus is cause it gets rid of the pentile matrix display, opting for a normal matrix one instead. |

QUOTE(mikehuan @ Mar 4 2011, 12:29 PM) 1. Brand. (HTC/Samsug/LG/Motorola/Others?) Judging by this I can recommend you three, no, four phones. No preference really, just want a phone that is durable, lightweight and has decent screen size. was thinking about HTC though, any bad reviews about that brand? 2. Budget. (1.5k-2k) around 1.5k - 1.7k. i refuse to buy a phone which is more than 1.7k 3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size) preferably scoring high on specs. dont care much about looks. screen size preferably slightly bigger than iphone 4. What you need in the phone (Sense UI ? Touch Witz ? Battery life? Form factor?) ease of use UI, email, GPS, internet capabilities, multi tasking, fast and smooth OS. need a decent camera that can take good pics at low light and dark conditions though. - HTC Desire (3.7 inch SLCD screen, 1GHZ processor with 512MB RAM, 5MP camera, 2.2 froyo, Sense UI, 150+mb internal memory) - HTC Desire Z / G2 (3.7 inch SLCD screen, 800MHZ processor with 512MB RAM, 5MP camera, 2.2 froyo, Sense UI 2.0 (Z) / Stock google (G2), hardware qwerty keyboard, 1GB internal memory) - Samsung Captivate / Samsung Vibrant (4.0 inch SuperAMOLED screen, 1GHZ processor with 512MB RAM, 5MP camera, 2.1 eclair (when stock), Touchwiz 3.0, 16GB internal memory) The Samsung Captivate is similar to the Vibrant, just that the design is different, and both are essentially the Galaxy S, but cheaper. |
