x10 mini is basically the same as the Pro version. If you need a QWERTY, go for it. But i wouldn't recommend any of the SE phones. If possible, + your budget to around RM 1k and get a decent phone. Samsung Galaxy Ace at RM950. It has a 800mhz proc which is rare for its price. Or if you can't go too high, RM 8xx for a Optimus One. Quite future proof.

QUOTE(mikehuan @ Mar 4 2011, 12:29 PM) 1. Brand. (HTC/Samsug/LG/Motorola/Others?) Captivate suits your needs. Sadly it lacks flash for the camera. If you don't do gaming or are just a casual gamer, go for an AP HTC Desire. Screen size is the same as iP4 IIRC. Desire Z if you want a QWERTY and a slightly larger screen. Also, consider Acer Liquid Metal as the processor is the same as the one used in the Desire Z but it comes in cheap at only RM1299 retail. Camera is sadly below average though. Nice design! No preference really, just want a phone that is durable, lightweight and has decent screen size. was thinking about HTC though, any bad reviews about that brand? 2. Budget. (1.5k-2k) around 1.5k - 1.7k. i refuse to buy a phone which is more than 1.7k 3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size) preferably scoring high on specs. dont care much about looks. screen size preferably slightly bigger than iphone 4. What you need in the phone (Sense UI ? Touch Witz ? Battery life? Form factor?) ease of use UI, email, GPS, internet capabilities, multi tasking, fast and smooth OS. need a decent camera that can take good pics at low light and dark conditions though. |

QUOTE(tbing @ Mar 4 2011, 11:40 PM) 1. Brand. (HTC/Samsug/LG/Motorola/Others?) Top up RM100 and get the Liquid Metal. Arguably best phone for <1.2kHTC/Samsung/Sony ericson 2. Budget. Less than 1.2k 3. Specs. (Processor / RAM / OS Version / screen size) don't want laggy phone and able to play angry birds. the most important is the touchscreen must be smooth. 4. What you need in the phone (Sense UI ? Touch Witz ? Battery life? Form factor?) -can use as wifi-hotspot. -able to read PDF documents -able to read and edit microsoft word/powerpoint documents - watch youtube videos I'm thinking samsung galaxy ace, htc aria (ap) or sony ericson x10 (ap) I have tried SE touchscreen phone x8 it is not as smooth as htc, samsung or iphone. i like the function of x10 but the touchscreen...and the SE android phone seems like not so good compare with the other brands Which should i choose? Which one is worth to buy? QUOTE(akira de aimbuster @ Mar 5 2011, 12:23 AM) ace is good for its price, and i dont think anyone should get x10 unless you really urge for the camera. Ace is RM9xx. x10(AP) is around 1.2k. IMO ace is more value for money. While x10's build quality is bad, the camera is still one of the best around. Personally i'll get the Liquid metal at 1.2k. Since its runs 8255 at 800mhz. |

QUOTE(katshi @ Mar 5 2011, 05:39 PM) Hey, was wondering what you all think about samsung galaxy s SL? Do you guys think it worth the price tag? I don't think its available in Malaysia. Whats the use of getting a phone from the last generation with a similar price tag to the current gen even when it has a SC-LCD? Go for Nexus S or the upcoming SGS 2 if you prefer Samsung. |

Thats the Super Clear LCD version. Different from S-LCD. the SC-LCD is better than Super Amoled on some reviews.

QUOTE(Sherly_Star @ Mar 7 2011, 03:37 PM) Hi, finding a new hp, come to hv some opinion =D Hmm. Maybe the Xperia Arc? SE are known for their cameras after all. But IMO the software is quite shiatty. HTC Incredible S might satisfy you. Same proc as DHD but should be upgraded in terms of build quality and camera quality.1. Android 2. RM2.5k below 3. Lagless and decent camera (better spec than Desire HD if possible) =P |

QUOTE(MercurialA @ Mar 7 2011, 09:19 PM) hey guys, Provided you don't multitask too much, Ace is better. Ace has a better CPU after all.help me on this... LG OPTIMUS 1 and SAMSUNG ACE looking for a decent and reasonable phone and worth every penny i pay. camera is not a problem, screen would be better if it can fit on my palms as well as minimum lags (I HATE THIS A LOT when things get slow especially messaging) most likely i will do these on my phone, 1) call and messaging 2) mbe skype or msn to chat 3) a well organized organizer is preferred to schedule my agenda 4) viewing both pdf and words files 5) gaming (so as long it supports angry birds) 6) a little of websurfing 7) videos (MP4 with VGA resolution) and plenty of music 8) eye catching user interface so which one is better... =] thank you in advance |

QUOTE(MercurialA @ Mar 7 2011, 11:24 PM) haha thank you so much for the replies... Its a higher clocked version. Not overclocked. If you overclock the Ace, the performance should be similar to a stock x10 or a stock Desire.but i heard that ace's cpu is actually the overclock version of optimus one's cpu? is that true? if yes, then when rooted, can i overclock the O1 to that speed and enjoy the processing speed? |

QUOTE(prescott2006 @ Mar 9 2011, 02:37 PM) I see. But Xperia X10 is around RM1100 also right? Isn't it a better choice? x10 even with a 1ghz proc, its gaming capability is inferior to the newer gen Q8255 procs. Added on March 9, 2011, 2:47 pm Thanks for your suggestion. By the way, will Xperia X10 a better choice? I see the spec and X10 seem to be the winner among them. O.S:Liquid Metal wins. PROC: Quite debatable. Camera:x10 wins. Build quality: Liquid Metal wins Screen quality: Liquid Metal wins. ROMS:x10 wins RAM:Equal. QUOTE(sakai4badminton @ Mar 9 2011, 03:04 PM) Need help plzzz SGS2 if you prefer smoothness and performance. But you might have to flash to a custom rom due to its older brother facing lag issues, SGS2 might face it too. Also, the S-AMOLED+ is fascinating. I wanna buy android phone...im thinking of getting either SGS2 or LG Optimus 2X or LG Optimus Black or SE Xperia Play..... I knw all of these phone havent arrive yet at Malaysia bt jz wanna do surveys on these phones My choice would be performance, graphics and smoothness of interface...which one should I get? LG Optimus 2x is just another Tegra 2 phone. Nothing special. LG Optmus Black is only a SINGLE CORE phone. Has IPS LCD display at usual resolutions. Quite thin. SE Xperia Play is not recommended if you want smoothness in your phone because of the usual SE garbage. Single core 8255 at 800mhz. Good for gaming though. |

QUOTE(prescott2006 @ Mar 9 2011, 04:45 PM) Android 2.2 and 2.3 is far better than 2.1? I thought more or less is the same since just a 0.1 difference. Lower clock speed doesn't mean weaker proc. Same thing as Pentium 4 2.8ghz vs Intel i3-330m 2.13 ghzHard to believe the 1GHz will inferior to lower speed processor. BTW, is the Liquid Metal processor power enough to play RMVB directly using software like Rockplayer? BTW, the newer gen proc's proc isn't stronger. Its just that the GPU is much better. Hence, the high scores in benchmarks. Proc wise, its still roughly the same as the 1st gen. This post has been edited by xDarkKnightx: Mar 9 2011, 05:08 PM |
