From the tenants list so far, seems quite promising. Don't think it will fare so bad IF there is support from Puchongites...

Tesco Extra is the largest Tesco format, it caters to business community as well as household with more selection and facilities... check out Tesco's website.. So it should be an upgrade instead of downgrade..

Well, this is what the website says http://www.tesco.com.my/html/extra.aspx?ID=4&PID=13&LID=1
Anyway, it's just a matter of rebranding and the enhancement of goods selection and services, size wise it will remain the same, don't see the point and logic to downgrade Puchong branch to a smaller one if they are profitable.. |

QUOTE(stimix @ Sep 10 2011, 05:31 PM) The latest rumour I heard about the status of Tesco in Puchong. Don't think that will be true.. LRT will be at the empty field next to Tesco, that space is sufficient for the station.. Tot Tesco Puchong upgraded to Tesco Extra d?Apparently the oldest Tesco in Malaysia will be tear down to give way for the upcoming LRT and by that time, the new Tesco at Bdr Bkt Puchong 2 gonna start liao All from neighbour kaypoing..dunno how true haha... BTW...the progress of Tesco Bkt Puchong as at Today- Just ground work no pilling yet ![]() |

QUOTE(stimix @ Sep 11 2011, 03:13 PM) Well, after thinking of it, maybe you're right but can't discount those aunties goreng rumours haha.. furthermore why need 2 Tesco in such a short distance? There's a thread on this going on now http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...9466&hl=puchongActually, what do you guys think if this Tesco Puchong really closed? Will it affect you guys in terms of convenience? I am hoping there will be some higher end grocer coming to Puchong, where you can get more imported/ organic/ niche goods and foods.. I think Puchongites are ready for this |

QUOTE(KannaSai1 @ Sep 11 2011, 05:54 PM) Setiawalk still can't get a grocer it yet... but yeah, hope there will be one there.Talking about Tesco Puchong, that piece of land can be considered as prime land, just next to LRT and of substantial size. Can't discount the possibility some party might be interested to buy over it for some mixed use development.. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Sep 13 2011, 06:03 PM) Just signed the petition. looks like the goman already achieved what they want. Slowly changing the Chinese mindset to study in National type school by creating short supply situation with No new Chinese, Tamil school policy. I dun see any problem being in national school... was educated since kindy, primary and secondary in national school... dun see i'm less chinese than others. In fact, i listen mostly to chinese songs and speak mandarin mostly even in school. Some chinese educated friends i know listen only to english songs.. IronySeeking opinion. Do you think this type of grill lock reinforcement shell can give better deterrent to the would be intruders as compare to the normal "lock ears" + padlock without the protective shell ? ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Sep 13 2011, 08:00 PM) That's one fine example of how successful the gomen policy is working right now. The policy is slowly showing effects, slow until the Chinese don't even realise it.....20 or 30 years down the road...generation by generation ....Chinese don't regard Chinese primary school is their root of culture anymore. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Sep 13 2011, 11:42 PM) Fighting for more Chinese schools for our next generation can never be wrong. If you think it is wrong, I respect your opinion because of your national school background. Nolar.. i never said that fighting for more Chinese school for future generation is wrong. In fact I fully support it as this is what more Chinese wants. What I didn't agree was that you said those who are not Chinese educated (like me) disregard Chinese culture as our root. Maybe I read wrongly, I meant no offence ya Pangurban, I like what you wrote on ppl wearing taditional Chinese costumes. I see Arabs wearing their abayas and the guys wearing their kanduras everyday everywhere they go. These are not backwater but modern people in one of the most modern cities inthe world. I remembered asking myself why we Chinese with thousands of years of culture and heritage fall to wearing jeans and t-shirt and flip flops just like any other ppl you can find anywhere. I respect the Arabs for respecting their culture and identity and preserving it into modern days. This post has been edited by davkong: Sep 14 2011, 01:14 PM |

Hi puchongites, wanna ask if the new road system at Persiaran Wawasan/ Setiawalk already running with the traffic light in place? How is the traffic like now with the new system? Before there are protests by RAs regarding 9 danger points with the new system...

QUOTE(PangurBan @ Feb 28 2012, 01:05 PM) aiyyyyya like tis Wawasan folk will forever vote PR liao. Didn't they also put a stop to plans to plonk a cemetery somewhere in Puchong? Hehe, it's always human nature to resist anything that will disturb their lives. Yup, the cemetery plan was off and that piece of small forest already gazetted as AHFR2. But not all protests can be successful, eg. the incinerator at the existing cemetery. |
