I'm using this. To me, this has the same protection as the "lock ears" + padlock, assuming we are not talking about metal strength/tension/tensile/etc.
I was at MidValley last weekend and saw this thing. I think it will some how give some added deterrent to the would be intruder to break in. It cost RM29 a piece.
Maybe u r right, maybe u r wrong, i have my own thinking which i choose not to voice out here.. i am one of the silent majority probably. Cheers!
Fighting for more Chinese schools for our next generation can never be wrong. If you think it is wrong, I respect your opinion because of your national school background.
The poster was asking about the device only, therefore did not discuss more on other areas to break in through the door, e.g. some simple break-in: (1) Direct cut the grill, like cutting wire fence. (2) Pry open from bottom using crowbar, unless your grill door has 2-3 ear+lock. It serves its purpose for the "ear"+"cover lock" only. Does not deter intruders from the example I give above.
This being the most common breaking case. My front door grill have 3 ears, top, center and bottom, all facing inwards. It is my intention to buy the metal cover to secure the bottom part of the grill.
Got this email and I think I must share it with all the Puchong folks here. I haven't try it though, not sure it will work or not.
Mosquito Trap - A Cheap Way
CAUTION: This information may cause massive loss of jobs in insecticides companies, but it could save thousands of innocent lives from the cruel fate of dengue.
My apologies to all branded insecticides in the marketplace.
DIY is so easy and its costs are unbelievably negligible. Eradicate Aedes and dengue. FIGHTING DENGUE MUST START AT EVERY HOME. It’s just a mix of water, brown sugar and yeast.
How to build a Mosquito trap.
Materials Needed:
2000ml (2 liter) bottle 50 gram (brown?) sugar 1 gram yeast Thermometer Measure cup Knife Black paper 1. Cut the top of the bottle as shown 2. Take the lower portion of the bottle. Dissolve the brown sugar in hot water. Let it cool down to below 40 deg C. 3. Add the yeast. Carbon dioxide will form. (This will attract the mosquitoes.) 4. Cover the bottle with a dark wrap and insert in the top portion upside down like a funnel. Place it in a corner in your house. 5. In 2 weeks you will be surprised by the number of mosquitoes killed.

any more details on how to DIY the trap.. no harm trying at my home...
you can put all the ear or locks... but you must aware also that thief has more than one entrance to your house... do remember to look in those area as well. roof, window, walls......
1) I have one question though, how long can the yeast continue interacting with sugar to produce CO2 ?
2) No doubt about it, got many entrances but I want to reinforce the most vulnerable zone first.
After my house kena robbed early this year, I asked one of the many grill/iron factory at Maju Jaya to install something similar xtra ear to my grill. Well, for sure it will slow down & deter any attempt break-in by hammering the flimsy lock ear but it also very mafan to lock & unlock the grill
Indeed. some more I have to lock top and bottom ears which facing inwards. For grill doors without the bottom ears, can buy the locking cramp.

Hi, mozzy discussion return !

My DIY Mozzy trap project failed. Can't even catch one mosquito. Maybe the I used expired yeast ? or maybe I placed it at a wrong place ?
Yesterday went for bt 14 yong tau Fu, forgot about the existence of new flyover. After sharp curve near tractor, sunddenly the flyover appeared. Have to break hard before decided to take the left fork. How come either taking the left fork or the flyover, all are going to the same direction (Putrajaya)?
I believe you've just proven my point about the intersection being a hazard.
Indeed. I can't see the flyover from far until I negotiated the sharp corner and the flyover suddenly appeared. I was hesitated for a while and didn't now which way to go. If this happened to me, I guess outsider could be worst.
You've proven my other point!! Everybody heading for the New Village, Putrajaya, Kajang, Nilai, Singapore, etc etc, will now keep right and go up the flyover. The lanes on the left going to Shah Alam AND Putrajaya, Kajang, Nilai etc etc will only be used by those going to Shah Alam. Same bottleneck as before.
Absolutely, past by yesterday night. The flyover over jamed to a crawl but the left lane smooth flowing.
Those smart fella surely use the left lane which is faster for sure haha just like from Putrajaya to IOI Mall, If the main one jam, I will turn left towards Shah Alam & make a U-turn b4 the toll plaza. Faste rthis way although abit far
Walao..a. Good tip wor... this one. Now only you tell Before Puchong Selantan toll plaza still can U-turn meh ?
Saw some contractors doing some soil sample testing along Jln Berkat of Kg Sri Aman liao....Probably this road will be the alligmnent of LRT last station in Puchong b4 crossing over to Giant Putra Height.. This is the most funniest located LRT station. deep inside a remote Malay Kampung in Puchong:
Talking about MPSJ, yesterday I witnessed MPSJ tow truck in action at OCBC bank bandar puteri. Damn fast they towed away an illegally parked car. I think it was more or less 5 min only.
