A friend of mine just got a Samsung SyncMaster P2370HD. It got a built in tv tuner, and since I heard that its a very nice monitor/television hybrid, I recommended it to him.

It works flawlessly, but there's one problem.

When he tries to connect a PS2 to the monitor using the component cable, it only shows in black and white.

And I have no idea how to fix this?

Any help here, please?

Err, not that too. Already tried almost everything. Anyone else had the same problem with their monitors?

I'm wondering if there's a setting in the monitor that can fix this, but if there is, its deep buried withing the complicated user interface of the monitor.

Hi, the Samsung P2370 HD TV works quite well with the PS2, the only mistake you made/ or your friend made is the connection cable you used. the normal connection cable for PS2 is an AV cable, which contains a red, yellow and white cables. an AV cable will not give a clear image, the right cable to be used is a Component cable which has 5 colours, red and white - audio and red, blue and green for video. So do nit used the normal AV cable but instead use a component cable (the price varies from RM 30 - 70 'test before buying')
I have attatched the images to show the difference.

I hope this helps
