I am using Umobile since 1 month ago because of its mobile internet.. i think its not bad bcoz they concentrate on their 3G service.. and i am subscribing for the second month with UB20 for rm20 average speed.. maxis 100mb is RM18 and slow..compare them..maxis is really ****.. overcharged many of its customers with the mobile internet subscription.. i am one of the victims.. =/ umobile for me is quite good.. ^^

i just signed up with U Lite RM68 Plan with Nokia E5 promo, anyone knows if i can use internet tethering with the 3GB data allowed? because certain plan such as BB BIS promo, they dont allow u to use internet tethering n youtube.. Thanks.

I saw its FAQs said Prepaid U Broadband subscriber will not be able to use data services in data roaming. but for prepaid and postpaid voice plan user, we can online when its in My Celcom.

hehe previously i also felt so curious and asked umobile bout this when i was still prepaid user, they said 5sen/MB is based on per connection..its like tunetalk's.. so we cant count it like RM5 for 100MB.. coz not all of us connect to the internet, like in iphone the connection is always active.. i mean let say i am using nokia e72, i will disconnect when i dont wan the connection..

I am allowed to use internet tethering hehe.. but i ask will i be charged 5sen/mb if online under MY CELCOM/umobile2G, some said i will be charged.. then i asked, i have 3GB data allowance, but no point asking.. then i called CS again but this time i choose general enquiry department, a guy said no matter online under celcom/umobile2g or umobile3g, only will deduct from my 3GB.. hmmmm.. dunno who to believe..

I remember previously my umobile prepaid is unable to online on umobile2g/celcom at all, even the FAQ said "If you are a UBSIM or Prepaid U Broadband subscriber you will not be able to use data services in Data Roaming". But just now i tried using it to online under umobile2g, the page loads.. O.O it deducted my data allowance instead of deducting my credit..are they doing something good to us? XD

*postpaid dat one i gotta see my bill in next month (coz i already used internet under celcom dat day =.=) or wait for umobile's confirmation as i sent an email to them d..

Yup.. actually prepaid you can easily monitor your balance ma.. hehe.. u try use laptop online d den see did it deducts your balance lo but customer service told me can use

Maybe he jus wanna use on phone? Hehe

For ppl who wont use more than 500mb its a nice plan..

call rate on 3G network is just 12sen/min to all network.. normal is 18sen/min reload bonus for rm10 is 10% but for above is 15% bonus.. this is the latest..

Anyone can help me this? My cousin just started to use umobile prepaid, as far as i concerned, i am able to online in umobile2g/celcom recently as a postpaid and prepaid users.. it works in n70,iphone, and e5 (which i alrdy observed) but today, my cousin able to online in umobile3G, but when the signal fluctuated to umobile2g, nokia n97 show error in the web browser..saying smth like couldn't perform the action (smth like that) anyone has this issue? are u able to online under umobile2g/celcom in ur nokia phone? Glad if someone could help..coz the CS don't even know we can online under data roaming 2g/celcom.. until when i ask them to see the FAQs only they "ohhh".. >.<

hey, i am having both prepaid and postpaid number with umobile.. just few months ago, i totally cant online in celcom/umobile2g.. but after that both of my prepaid n postpaid out of sudden can online in celcom/umobile2g d..hehe.. and that time i also very very curious.. then i clarified with umobile (after dealing with more than 5 CS officers, took very long time and end up get a very confirm answer), we can online under celcom/umobile2g (domestic data roaming) which will deduct from the data allowance allowed (eg minus from ur 300mb), if exceeded, as usual u will be charged 5sen/mb no matter on celcom/umobile2g or UMOBILE3G..

From a staff responded to me in Facebook (Last Confirmation):
Ah Shyuan, Sorry for the confusion. My mistake. I was made to understand that you CAN tether under 2G now. I just checked with the product manager to confirm this.

To summarize;

Postpaid & Prepaid plan - Can do data & tether on 3G & 2G
Postpaid + data plan - Can do data & tether on 3G & 2G
Broadband only plan - Can do data on 3G only, not 2G

Hope this explains.

Yes it's 64kbps, says it in their website the speed u r saying is for normal UB plan i supposed

As i know, it does not.. umobile2g works the same way as under celcom..

i put prepaid simcard in different phones, can online under umobile2g and UMOBILE3G.. but hor.. dat day try to put n97, can on under UMOBILE3G but when changed to umobile2g, it says connection error and web cant perform bla blabla.. got such thing as on data roaming in n97? i supposed nokia phone shud be the same, but dunno y only n97 cant..

Hmm.. i did.. but now i found something, tried two prepaid n one postpaid simcard in different phones but settings remain the same in all phones, prepaid can online under 3G but not 2G, postpaid can online under both 3G n 2G without altering internet settings..so it shouldn't be a prob of n97.. wonder why prepaid suddenly cant online under 2G these days again d..

but if u dont knw yet, um alrdy support online under 2g .. hehe.. since past 1 or 2 mths my prepaid started to able online under umobile2g.. and the staff in facebook confirms me this :

Postpaid & Prepaid plan - Can do data & tether on 3G & 2G
Postpaid + data plan - Can do data & tether on 3G & 2G
Broadband only plan - Can do data on 3G only, not 2G

Added on April 28, 2011, 12:48 amum staff told me umobile2g and celcom work totally the same thing, provided the names are different only.. my new simcard usually be in celcom for few days after that become umobile2g (whenever it's roaming) d..so, u mean i can gv it a try to manually choose celcom instead letting it go into umobile2g automatically then online? what bout the internet profile? create celcom's?

some time ago, surprisingly my prepaid can data roam under 2g with using UB20, then i tried online under 2g while PAYU, it works too.. i curious, i asked the fb staff, he say we r allowed to data roam under 2g now.. but recently, i cant online under 2g anymore (PAYU)..i told the U staff in fb, now waiting for their quick reply as promised by them.. wondering if they are actually altering smth..
