hi there,.

i am new user for u mobile, as the coverage map in u mobile websites showing that my places not supported but my friends come to my house and his u mobile 3G network working,.. he and i both using the same ZTE MF627 usb modem, so i decide to go to buy the u mobile starter pack today and top up RM 68 to activate the U68 broadband,.

and after everything done,. i came home and my ZTE modem showing default umobile 2G network only,. and cannot get on,. i doing manual scan and i found the Umobile 3G network, but when i try to connect it said : network setting failed,..

and i call the Customer service too, and she is very friendly but she have no clue,. and then she say she will have to pass this issue to technician and it might take up to 5 days for them to reply me,.

so anyone have any clue what should i do ? oh by the way my location is fro penang georgetown area..

any help would be appreciate,..

i faced the same problem before...suddenly cannot login to the network but can detected the hsdpa signal..error came out saidĀ  need to check the setting...the other day i test again its can connect without doing nothing..so i just assumed is UM network prob..

yea i really hope is UM problems, otherwise i will be waste RM 68 + rm 8 .. i can manual scan and found the u mobile 3G network (UMTS/ HSPA ) but everytime i connect it said network settin failed,.. while all the setting in my ZTE MF627 is correct,.

i know, is HSPA,.. not HSDPA.. i guess is the 42mb network, too bad i cannot connect,.

thanks for response, i hope the network will connect some how, currently using the slow 384kb digi data sim, sad.gif sad.gif

wondering whether the reason is

HSDPA modem cannot connect to HSPA network??

and need a HSPA+ modem for the HSPA network ??

did contact the customer service and they are very helpful but still going no where and they are not sure of what the network coverages,..

I checked some times in the past few weeks and found there are no new coverages,I don't know they are lazy to update the map or they're taking rest now. hmm.gif
*
actually weeks ago the u mobile websites did stated there is a lot of coveraages in penang georgetown area, so then i decide to buy u mobile sim pack in 7-eleven here and lucky me they did help me to activate as a lot of 7-eleven dont,. and then once i try out in the coverages area with my ZTE MF 627 and Dlink DWM 151 modem both modem cannot get connected to their network even under the HSPA+ network area,. i though the modem suppose can get connect and we only surf up to the speed of our modem can support right?

so i call the Customer service, they did follow up and very helpful and go through everything but nothing much more they can do,. is kind of useless as well..., after 3 days they follow up, next thing they remove the coverages in penang whole georgetown off from their map, and until now they still didnt update it,rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

so i was hoping to get some info on any user in penang try out at which area stable and stronger connection can let me know?

i bought new sim pack and i ask how many days my number need time to active?she tell me 30minute -___-''

now already 24hour...
how now?
*
well, i think u can prooceed to u mobile service centre and direct ask them to activate for u, easier,. or u can go to where u buy the sim pack and ask them to check again,..

maybe it's still in testing?i do notice that the dl speed in my area is slower than before.Previously i can get more than 1500kbps,now even at midnight only can reach 900kbps.The network is being congested???
*
in my area i can do maanual scan using my ZTE MF627 and Dlink DWM 151 modem for the u mobile 3G network but when i click connect it said: network setting failed directly,.

which all my setting is provide by level 2 customer service of u mobile,. i guess the signal tower is there already just not yet into service,...

wasted RM68 to get so excited for this super fast broadband , and now dont know how long i need to wait,.. cry.gif cry.gif

the speed capped to 128kbps, same as P1...
*
actually p1 is faster than that, depends on your area,. if your area very less user they wont capped you at all, i am using p1 as well, never capped i think because i use it for 2 years plus now and also my area very less user,.. icon_rolleyes.gif
