Worth to get the RM450 Huawei E72 modem?

I'll be happy if my 7.2mbps modem maxed out already.

Need help on how to use internet on Celcom's network. I'm using Android, I've already manually registered to umobile2G but still cannot have internet.

Any APN settings that I need to be aware of?

If you go to *118*3#, there is a new unlimited internet plan at RM28.

Anyone is using this new plan? It is for prepaid users.

BTW, I used almost 15GB last month and no cap at all. I think UM is doing deep packet inspection or something like that. Downloading apps for iPhone is extremely slow cause it is .ipa file. But when download .dmg, it is 3Mbps and .rar around 1Mbps.

I didn't subscribe to this package. But from the *118#, it mention unlimited internet, 30 free SMS, 100 free minutes and 30 days validity.

I also checked the website but no info there. I'm guessing this is using Celcom's slow EDGE, not 3G.

In the *118# here is what it says:

Unlimited Mobile Internet Plan is a monthly internet plan (FUP applies) for the prepaid users. This plan comes with with free talk time of 100 minutes and 30 sms. Sounds good for me. Subscribing now. Later speed test lo. whistling.gif

here is the result:

My location is shown as if i am in Brunei one while I am in Bandar Sunway.

After i changed to KL server, here is the result:

I tried to download the Recuva and the speed on average is about 100kb/s. rclxms.gif

Nice.

I think if you notice, the IP has changed to 27.125.x.x

And the nearest server is Singapore biggrin.gif , try change to Kuala Lumpur (Hosted by Yes4G), you should notice the speedburst

The slow international link is due the ACPN2.

Hmm, I doubt the quota would be as high as 5GB, maybe 300MB like DG Smart Plan Lite. I just subscribed to thr RM68 Broadband.

But unlike DG where they cut off straight, your speed maybe throttled to 56kbps? LOL, back to dialup.

Anyone just noticed that your unlocked Huawei modems no longer work with uMobile networks?

My Huawei E1550 modem which has been unlocked with the Mobile Partner Dashboard can no longer connect to uMobile while my ZTE MF 627 could flawlessly. It used to previously.

The Huawei USB modem is able to detect the network but fails when trying to connect. The server just doesn't want to authenticate it.

Info on the Unlimited Prepaid Internet is revealed in the website already.

'Unlimited' just means that you'll not be charged after reaching the quota of 500MB.

Still very good plan for me, since my usage is around 500MB a month, can have free SMS and talktime somemore. gogo UMobile!
