Which one do you prefer and why?

Prefer the sealed one.. the ported one a bit dangerous, in case some small animal go inside and make their home there....
Sealed one safer.. not hole....

Anyway I think TS more interested in the Sound difference.

haha..you wont believe how many toys and rubbish my kids put in Sub port

I gone over to sealed sub... no more hole to worry about......

For me, I am ok with both type.. sealed more suitable for music.. ported for the movie slam....
When watching movie.. miss the slam.. when using ported.. music sound loose...
Anyway, me not that particular on sub... if can have both.. better.. but the other half will say.. why need 2 big box making only one type of sound... boom boom some more.. complain noisy... when watch movie.. she want loud loud.. the rest of the time.. complain noisy.. so ended with sealed sub... when she not around.. turn up the sub.. the rest of the time.. max 6 o'clock position...

6 o' clock on the sub?! What is the channel level at avr? What sub that you are using? I have never had my sub's gain more than 1 o'clock. Or shall I say there is only once above 12 o'clock and that's my 1st sub about 17yrs ago.

6 o'clock as its located behind and I look at it upside down.... sorry for the shock ..... AVR channel level at the negative areas..... when situation permits.. I try to bring it to the positive side... to enjoy the boooooom booooooom but that don't happened often... until someone complain..... and twist my ears...
