just wondering...
i manage to dload the latest firmware/systems update (Feb '10) from Xbox.com....
my question is, will there be any problem such like system lockdown etc if i follow the given steps by M$ to update my firmware since mine is a modded unit?
my modded unit starts to have problem playing new games, i guess its time to for an update....

if your system starts having problem from playing the new games, it has nothing to do with Dashboard/system update from microsoft.

u need to bring yr unit to the shop for a firmware update, or buy a bootdisc. how much does it cost? i have no idea & to save yr time in the future, pls go for unmodded console.

u will be doing this a number of times in future.

ok.. thanks for the input guys... im still waiting patiently for xbox to come out with Bluray version, then will definitely get the unmodded ones and go online...im sure LIVE features are far too great to be missed out at that time...

as of now, im still ok with modded version cos im not 'that' heavy on gaming and LIVE...

so for the DVD drive firmware update, cant we do it ourself? where do game shops get them??

XBOX360 will never have Bluray version dude. Never.

However the successor of XBOX360 is another story. The lifespan for this generation of console is estimated for 10 years, start from 2005

sure a? so if Xbox moves to Bluray (or some other format which is better), it could only happen after 2015?

hmmm... if this is a fact, then when Kinect is on sale by end of this year, i'd probably sell my current unit and get the unmodded slim version... with built in wifi, i guess thats one good reason to go LIVE..
