Exora CPS is known to be underpowered when going uphill, hence the frequent downshift to achieve more torque at high RPM. The CFE engine has more torque at lower RPM (max torque at 2k RPM), hence there is little need to downshift. Furthermore the CVT is smooth and very comfortable, none of the shift shock nonsense compared to the 4AT gearbox in the CPS. Sorry I've never driven the EB up Genting, though I have driven the Saga FLX SE with CVT, which is almost the same gearbox as the Exora Bold.
