Ya you are right, some of these stocks need long term thinking.

With Pos, I believe the fair value of DRB is worth rm 5 , in the long run.

Having said that, many would ask me whether can it be achieved in 1 to 3 months time.

I say it again, it is for long term.

But I don't see investment from DRB Hicom will have any synergy effect or any value added to POS, and vice versa to DRB Hicom..

Other than, we can expect higher net profit coming from this associates in the coming quarter.

I presume you are holding POS.
if DRB inject in its Bank Muamalat, DRB's revenue will increase as that would be the core bank to do transactions. POS will increase its' efficiency in bank services because control would be easier under one company and cost can be reduced.
It's win-win situation I believe.
Also, DRB has a property arm and insurance to throw in.
Property arm can develop landbanks of POS if approved.
Insurance arm for DRB's automotive section and POS can benefit with some commission .
There should be more synergies.....

Anyway, DRB-Hicom getting POS is a good news. However, the question whether it will go up or not will depend on KLCI performance on Monday too. It's so fragile right now, any bad news will cause a spiral downward effect on share price.

Perhaps I'm not familiar with DRB, the only things I know about it was automotive sector and used to operate airline business but sold for RM1 to Tony Fernandes. Now call Airasia.

POS is more like Super mini markets for DRB bank/ services.

Super in term of its mutliple products and wide circuits.

Mini in term of low costs though small Post Offices

That translates to very high profit margins for the group.

They need aggressive management team though.

Khazanah Nasional Bhd has divested its strategic 32.21% stake in Pos Malaysia to DRB-Hicom Bhd at RM3.60 per share or RM622.79 million, deemed a landmark divestment by the government’s investment arm of its entire stake in a major government-linked company.

On Friday, Pos Malaysia’s share price closed two sen higher at RM3.37 with 595,000 shares done while DRB-Hicom fell two sen to RM2.30 with 2.32 million units transacted.

Pos Malaysia said based on the audited results for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2010, its audited consolidated net profit was RM67.11 million and audited consolidated net assets RM828.59 million.
