Nah ... I have a mesmer that's gone through every single one of the missions intact minus the occasional screw ups from random bad parties. You can play a Me/W without having to touch anything from the warrior skill trees. That's what I did for my mesmer.
Give your mesmer a chance ... the clothes are VERY VERY nice.

You definately want to play mesmer if you want to buaya people.

1) Fiery Bowstring,
2) Conjure Flame,
3) Kindle Arrows,
4) Mark of Rodgort,
5) Poison arrow.

Watch mighty buff warriors start running away from you.

You're skillset will mostly be completely ranger based if you're going ranger/ele since the nicer burn spells are further in the game.

Spellcasters are teh squishy ...
You should pack more AoE spells to show them you're not squishy. HEHE.
