bro...just bought pivot vcapa = measure voltage..
Situation 1: Engine on, volt reading = 13.2V ~ 13.6V Situation 2: Engine on, lights on, volt reading 12.4V ~ 12.7V Situation 3: Engine on, lights on, aircond on, volts reading 10.8V ~ 11.5V. Ideal volt is between 11.5V ~ 15.0V. According to the manual.. So, if install grounding cable, can make situation 2 or 3 more stable ka? My ride = Suzuki Jimny. |

QUOTE(erictioh @ Nov 9 2010, 11:18 AM) pmed. hoho.those situation 1 ~ 3 : car not moving..only engine running..Added on November 9, 2010, 11:23 am Hi bro, your situation 1 looks good, however 2 and 3 are problem. It could be due to several reason like alternator weak which is unable to produce enough current, or bad grounding, etc. Can try to put the grounding, if that is cause of bad grounding, then after putting grounding cable it should be better. Pmed. today, drive to work. diff situation already. Morning - drive to work: Situation 0: Engine on, car not moving = 12V ~ 12.5V Situation 1: Engine on, car moving lights on = 10V ~ 10.4V Situation 2: Engine on, car moving, lights on, aircond on = below 9.0V ~ 9.3V Evening - drive home: Situation 3: Engine on, car not moving = 12.5V ~ 12.8V Situation 4: Engine on, car moving, aircond on = 11.3V ~ 11.5V Situation 5: Engine on, car moving, aircond on, lights on = 10.3V ~ 10.7V. So, possibility of poor grounding is high ka bro eric? ok bro. maybe end of this month need you to measure the length of the gc. |

QUOTE(erictioh @ Nov 9 2010, 11:14 PM) Is your car jerk when aircond is running and car not moving ? nope..no jerking when aircond on or off..I suspect your alternator is weak, in the morning your car engine is cold and the ECU will bring up the RPM and thus consume more power, and that's why situation 2 get 9V +. whereas situation 5 has higher voltage due to evening the engine is not as cold as morning. The voltage reading when engine is running shouldn't be 12.* volt, it should be 14v + or else it's very hard to charge back your battery and then your battery will die fast schedule with me a time, i'll check for you. oh..ok..next week, can meet either mon or tues morning? i'll be off from work those 2 days.. |
